The atmosphere contained unique, vintage decor and an inviting vibe. My critiques are that our pastries were not fully warmed (cold in the center) and they need to use people's names for their orders. The drive-thru is a bit peculiar to get in & out of, but once you figure it out, you're smooth sailing. Also, it's right by the giant whale ? so you can't possibly miss it. The coffee/lattes aren’t necessarily the best I’ve had in the city, but they aren’t bad by any means— still good coffee. The people at the shop are what make it though! “Evo Hotel exceeded all my expectations! Customer service throughout the hotel, from front desk staff to cafe barista, skate park staff, retail store staff, yoga instructors, etc was phenomenal! (A shout out to Kennedy who patiently helped us through last min delays from our Amtrak train because of storms.) Everyone was genuinely friendly and eager to help/accommodate at every turn. We loved how clean and exceptionally well designed all the rooms were - with no carpet (which we loved!), lots of hooks and storage space, interesting artwork, and effective layouts. There are coolers you can borrow if you need to keep drinks cool, the cafe bar has great drinks and pastries, yogurts, and smoothies, and there is a filtered water dispenser on the first floor. As part of the stay, you have access to all the facilities and we enjoyed the evening yoga classes. There are lots of cute restaurants within a few blocks, and parking in the lot or out front was very easy. This is an industrial area, so there are some homeless people around, but we had no issues. With the fantastic customer service, clean & cook vibes, and all the fun amenities, this will definitely be our go to hotel in SLC!“

RoHa Brewing Project Brewery • $

“In the past few years, RoHa Brewing has gone from a neighborhood spot we would go into occasionally for a beverage or to sit on the dog-friendly patio on a beautiful day to a brewery that has absolutely stolen our hearts and become a cornerstone of the Ballpark neighborhood. Check out their instagram for a rotating calendar of community events (from fundraisers to save the Great Salt Lake to delicious local cheese tastings), beer releases, food trucks, & local bands. The beers are fun and have a wide range, the hard seltzers are refreshing, and even if you’re doing a Dry January or a Sober October, they’ll have something besides water for you to sip. But let’s be real: the real strength of RoHa is its people, both the staff and the regulars. They are so welcoming and friendly, and you don’t have to fit a certain look or be in a specific age range to receive a hello and a chat. Come on by and experience our lovely neighborhood brewery. No matter the season, it’s a nice place to be.“

“I mean it’s vegan food… don’t get the margherita pizza, the cheese sticks to the roof of your mouth like grout and has the same consistency as slightly wet flour. Also they put cherry tomatoes on it? And covered the whole thing in cheese? Just odd choices for a vegan restaurant. The cauliflower wings are just roasted cauliflower… tasted great but why call them wings? The green curry is bomb as well. Also server was wonderful. Cool industrial interior as well. Pricey as hell though, almost no entrees are under $20. Cheapest I saw was $19, most were $21+. Desserts looked absolutely splendid, but we didn’t get them :(HALF OF THEIR MENU WAS CHEESE BASED ITEMS BY THE WAY! WHY?? Vegan food can be great but why are we trying so hard to make non-vegan foods vegan?Vegetarian options: They’re vegan for sure“

“A friend and I were seated within 20 minutes on St. Patrick’s Day around 12pm. We typically wait an hour for brunch on a normal Sunday in SLC, so to get that kind of luck on a holiday was unreal!! The service in general was just lovely. Food portions are surprisingly large and everything had so much flavor. We order mimosas and the spiced vodka mule drink and loved every minute ??Parking: The lot is behind the restaurant, off the street, but there are only about 20 spots so you just kind of wait it out until someone leaves and you can take there spot. Otherwise you’d probably have to park down the block.“

“I went to Red Lotus on 3/30 with a friend of mine and it was a little cloudy so we didn't know if the patio was open. We had two dogs with us so outdoor seating was a must. Luckily, they were and we enjoyed light rain on their patio. The food was amazing and I want to personally call out Genaro, our server. He was amazingly awesome!!! He deserves a raise, keep up the good work Red Lotus!!!!“
