Business breakfast at Adelaide. I’d heard great things about their dinners. Breakfast is a different story. First, parking here is a disaster. Easier to find Jimmy Hoffa than a parking spot here. For a Friday morning, post-early morning rush, getting a table was easy. Getting a server, not so much. Nearly 15 minutes before a server appeared. Server was pleasant but the whole vibe of the restaurant felt woefully understaffed. Food was good, to be fair. I ordered the breakfast croissant. Eggs were very good as was the bacon. Croissant was a bit meager for large serving of eggs, bacon, and avocado. Took awhile to get the table cleared and get the check. Like I said, I’ve heard raves about their dinner service so maybe breakfast is more of an afterthought based on this experience.Parking: No valet on stand. Street parking full. Very poor signage for parking. Free garage parking across street at another hotel.

Good, but not great.Adelaide is a beautiful restaurant. While there was no music playing, the ambiance makes you feel as if you’re on a nice vacation. The staff was very attentive and we were seated right away. Our order was taken quickly and the food didn’t take long.My disappointment with Adelaide was due to the lack of presentation and effort. Below, I posted what the online menu portrays my dishes to look like versus what I was served. You can see that the dishes I got look thrown together, the hot cakes lacking in lemon curd and compote and a big handful of walnuts looking as if they were thrown on top of the donuts. While the food was okay, I don’t think I’d come back.

I thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast experience! We indulged in the ricotta donuts with dolce de leche and pecans, which were served piping hot and bursting with sweetness. The salmon and bagel with poached eggs & potatoes was a delightful combination of fresh flavors, while the ricotta and lemon hot cakes, breakfast croissant, and Loraine omelet were equally delicious. The attentive and friendly servers added to the overall pleasant atmosphere. I wholeheartedly recommend dining here and look forward to returning soon!

Honestly, the food was not good, and presentation was lacking. Tuna crudo was just tuna cubes on a plate, no garnish. Short ribs and crispy potatoes were very, very dry, and overcooked, and swordfish was tasteless. We were three very hearty eaters who could not finish our plates. However, our arugula salad was very tasty, and our waitress, I think her name was Haley, was very friendly, and informative. There are too many other good choices in downtown SLC to have to deal with this quality of food.

Our first brunch in SLC set the tone for our group trip. A bit on the pricey side given the portions, but the ingredients and choices covered all the sweet and savory bases. Plus our server was Filipina, so an extra star for representation!

I have never written a review of my experience at a restaurant. I have rarely ever had cause to be more than slightly upset at a dining experience. For me to do this… I want you to understand how jarring my evening was.I booked a 7 PM reservation for Adelaide on Valentine’s Day. It was $90 per person, for a 3-course meal with dessert. To be clear, this event had a limited menu. This is important context to the evening. We arrived about 6:55 and were immediately seated. The restaurant wasn’t slammed, but they were easily busy. The dining area was loud and brightly lit. As a concession to the day, each table had a small vase with two roses, that was the only thing which marked the evening as something other than a Wednesday. Even the music was an eclectic offering that clearly had no thought placed into it.It only took a couple minutes after being seated for our waiter to greet us, but it then took another 10 minutes to order cocktails and another 10 before we had them and were able to place our orders. The first course came out about 10 minutes after our order was placed, about 7:30, but was wrong and had to be corrected. The second course arrived promptly after we finished the first. At about 7:50 the server tried to give us the second course again, and we gently corrected him in that we were now awaiting our entrees. These finally arrived at 8:10, we quickly finished, and then we had dessert by about 8:25. Overall, it felt like we were left alone too much and the time between things was too long. Especially given that these were all small plates on a set menu. Also, by about 7:45 the restaurant was markedly less busy. Now to the food. For the first course, my fiancé and I both chose the Louisiana Gulf Shrimp Bisque. It was bland and uninspired. Frankly, I’m not sure any salt was used at all. There were also bits of shrimp scales in the bisque. Someone apparently doesn’t know how to drain their stock. The second course was Crab Cake Croquettes. These were pleasant enough, and to be fair not my favorite thing in the world in general, but I can’t complain about these. For the third course my fiancé ordered Praline Crusted Halibut and I ordered a Petite Filet with Crab Maison. The halibut was clearly overcooked and tough. The petite filet was fine, but the Crab Maison…. I had to look it up when I got home. While there are many takes on this, they’re all a mayonnaise base with relish, scallions, capers, mustard, spices, etc., mixed with the crab meat. Mine was seemingly suspended in cool whipped butter and nothing else. I didn’t know what to expect, but suspected this was wrong. Needless to say, it wasn’t enjoyable. Finally, dessert! We had Pecan Financiers, with pear coulis, honeycomb vanilla gelato, and meringue crips. The fanciers came adorned with what looked like whipped cream and the meringue crisps. I say looked like, because it was our old friend cool whipped butter once again! In this instance, I presume someone whipped the cream too long and forgot to add sugar. After all of this, we also received a bag with two decorated heart shaped sugar cookies and a copy of the menu as a keepsake. In other circumstances I would have considered this a sweet memento, but the menu copy is stained by the oils from the cookies and another addition to the thoughtlessness of the evening. There was nothing about this night that was worth the $270 I paid for it, with the exception that I spent it with my fiancé.TL;DR – The service was slow and confused. The food was bland, uninspired, and simply bad. This place has serious issues which need to be addressed.

We visited Adelaide for the Valentine’s day prix-fix and the service was great but the food was a lacking. Flavors just weren’t there, nothing felt complete or fulfilling. Oysters Rockefeller had shell in it and was soupy, the Filet with crab on top was way over peppered and the Bourbon/Jalapeño butter was not melted which made it weird to eat. Flavors in every dish felt like they clashed or did not complement each other well. The dessert left a lot to be desired, I found it weird to have apple sauce on it and was lacking any flavor. Overall a big miss for a 300$ meal.

Food was very good, especially the crab cake croquettes. Service was high quality, very friendly. Nice ambiance before a Jazz game. Would recommend.

Every time I visit Adelaide, it's an exceptional experience with their consistently spectacular food. The menu is great, offering a wide range of flavors and options. But what truly sets Adelaide apart is its service. The staff, especially Iris, Seth, and Chris, are always friendly and on top of everything. The team goes above and beyond every time.Highly recommend Adelaide for anyone looking for top-notch food and service!

The food does not stand out. It is bland and overpriced. I would not go out of my way to go here. The only saving grace for this place is the view and the staff that served our food.

I did come in on a Monday and if one employee calls out it can cause a ripple of craziness throughout service. That being said, the bartender is super slow. I only got one drink through the dinner and we Lyfted. The focaccia was served quite a bit after being grilled (like warmed up and cooled down) and other food was microwaved to get back to temperature. The protein at this restaurant is good but the ravioli is garbage. We were only visited by wait staff for one time to order. That being said shout-out to Antonio, he really fixed the situation. The serving staff also gave a free desert for my mom's bday. Clam chowder looks really good but other food had issues (specifically any dish that is not a meat, even the cheesey grits are not very good). Not a very good place for vegetarians.

Service was terrible, 40 minutes to get a cocktail. 10 minutes later appetizers showed up. Bread had cooled to room temperature. Oysters Rockefeller were mediocre and cool, forgot the spinach. Clam chow⁹der was good. Ribs, salmon, and sword fish were good. Only one waitress and manager did not step and help just walked around. Horrible place.

Food is bland and way overpriced. Head chef is rude and treats her staff poorly. Physically assaulted a staff member. She needs to be fired. Even the Taco Time near my house has a better rating than this place. Save yourself the money.
