An Exquisite Affair Catering

Unsatisfactory customer service.
My mother, maid of honor, and I went to a scheduled tasting with Susan at her kitchen. We were set to be on time, but the address stated on Google Maps sent us to her home. She was kind enough to wait for us for 15min to get to the correct place and accommodate for a third person.
I had issue with her not providing a full menu, expecting us to just trust that the food will be good on the day of the wedding. Her excuse was that she just didn't have the time to prepare everything. She also openly admitted to giving us month-old frozen brisket which she had prepared for a different client, and we have suspicion to think that some items such as the Mango Salsa, fried tortilla chips, and shredded chicken for the soup were all store bought. Her pricing, given all the cut corners and outsourcing, seemed outrageous to me, charging $3 for each piece of silverware she bought 30 years ago. Additionally, her character and ours simply didn't match, as she was being fairly unprofessional and too buddy-buddy with her comments/jokes regarding my mother's broken English (she struggled with opening the entry door twice, which Susan jokingly commented on with "you've already done this! You should already know by now!")and my maid of honor's experience in the food industry. She also very confidently stated her opinion on some of my decisions for my own wedding --which seemed to be unsatisfactory to her--, including the placement of the open bar and not including some items for food, as well as other things unrelated to catering. On top of all, she charged me $200 for the tasting, while other places didn't charge me at all.
If you are looking for decent catering you might have better chances, but I recommend not asking for ethnic food with them or exceptional planning. Unfortunately just not the right fit for us.

From the moment we went to a tasting with Susan at An Exquisite Affair Catering, we knew we wanted to hire her to cater our wedding. She was so personable and professional and the food she creates is delicious. She helped us pick the perfect menu and was so easy to work with on headcount changes. The guests at our wedding all enjoyed the delicious food that was served. The buffet table looked wonderful; the food was hot and tasted divine. Susan was fantastic to work with! After the tasting I knew the food would be great and I wouldn't have to worry about that aspect of my wedding. I loved that she also did the linens, china, and bar tending for our event. Her staff even put my DYI centerpieces on the tables for me! Red Butte gardens has An Exquisite Affair Catering, as one of their preferred venues and I certainly see why! If you need a caterer...they are the one to hire!

We hired Susan for our small wedding at Red Butte Garden. She was extremely friendly and helpful along the way. I had a lot of questions and never felt like I was a bother. On the day, the food was absolutely delicious and the serving staff was really friendly and personable. I wholeheartedly recommend Exquisite Affair Catering!

Exquisite Affair did a fantastic job catering my friend’s baby shower. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. We had a lot of leftovers, too! Set up and clean up were seamless. They were easy to work with - extremely punctual and professional in every way. I highly recommend them!

If you are having a wedding reception or any other kind of event you need to consider An Exquisite Affair! They were so easy to work with and very accommodating. I had them cater my wedding reception at Red Butte Gardens and it was perfect! The food was amazing and they took care of setup and cleanup and everything. Highly highly recommend.

Susan and her team are amazing. They catered our wedding at Tracy Aviary. Everything was perfect and professional. Early in the process we met with Susan and she had us taste several food choice options. Everything she made was delicious--it was difficult to choose! The staff set up beautifully and were right on the spot with service. We especially loved Holly, the bartender. She was so much fun and very professional!

We had a beautiful wedding reception with 160 guests catered by An Exquisite Affair, owned by Susan Stutchbury in Salt Lake City, Utah at Red Butte Garden.It truly was An Exquisite Affair! Susan is extremely professional, friendly, knowledgeable, organized and prepared. We knew she was the caterer for us when she invited us to her business kitchen and put on the whole 3 course menu from appetizers to dessert at no charge. We had met with 4 other caterers for this event. The food was so yummy, my husband and I got in the car after the meal and said to each other, "this is a done deal".After that meeting, it was just an exercise of choosing what we wanted on the menu from her extensive choices. We made all of the decisions for our event with Susan via e-mail, phone calls and text messages. Susan was incredibly responsive even though we are out of state patrons with a 2 hour time difference, she answered every call, e-mail and text message in a very timely manner. That made the event seem effortless with her prompt and precise communication skills.We even had a couple of changes the week before the event and her response was "I can do that, no problem or I will get that done." We also forgot to accommodate a few guests with their special dietary needs but the week before the event Susan made time to talk with our guests personally and provided them with the nutritional facts of the menu that she was serving, so they could feel included and safe knowing what ingredients were in the food.The food was hot, delicious and creative, dishes like Blackberry BBQ Meatballs, Chicken with Apricot Dijon Glaze, Tri Tip with Balsamic reduction to Lemon Bars, Tower of Cream Puffs drizzled in chocolate, Cheesecake Bars and much more, all of her creations were devoured and scrumptious. We had many guests compliment us on her food and the menu, saying it was the best appetizers, dinner and desserts at a wedding that size that they had ever been to.Susan and her staff went the extra mile to help us with details that were not in her job description like getting the tables decorated with our extra details. She even had a staff person run an errand for us during the event that we had overlooked.We are beyond thrilled with all of the services that An Exquisite Affair provided, and thoroughly enjoyed working with her and her staff. We can't wait to have another big event and have An Exquisite Affair do it all over again!Thanks Susan!

My son had a wedding with 116 people at Red Butte Garden and we contracted with An Exquisite Affair. They are approved by Red Butte and specialize in Vegan foods. The servers working the event were very professional and polite. The kitchen staff from the start could not keep the appetizers stocked and the table was empty a majority of the time. In addition they ran out of appetizers quickly. This was foreshadowing of what was to come. When the meal was served, we paid for real china. They ran out of plates and the final 15-20 people ate off of paper plates which were to be used for desserts. When we asked the kitchen to wash plates for the others to eat, they refused. The food was served buffet style and many of the buffet items were empty and we had to keep pushing the kitchen staff to refill them. They ran out of the main dish before 50 people had eaten and ran out of another dish before the bride and groom tried to eat. The quality of the food was about a 7.Needless to say, I WOULD NOT recommend An Exquisite affair.

Beautiful food for our memorial service at Red Butte. High quality food and wonderful staff at a reasonable price. Susan and their wonderful staff made our difficult day much easier. Deserts were wonderful. Wait staff very professional and efficient. Thank you.
