I had an arepa from here and was disappointed to find it was rather bland. Maybe some of the other options are better, but with so many good options in SLC, I won’t be returning here again. #Veganuary
I’m not even kidding the pabellon empanada is my new favorite food. It’s soooo good and the garlic sauce is amazing. 10/10 on all of the empanadas but the pabellon is insane. This would be a death row request for me lol?

The food is bad, the cachapa is not with hand cheese. When you order through Doordash, they bag everything wrong.

The pabellon arepas are so good! And the guava and cheese tequenos were delightful. Great service and too top food.

A terrible tasting meal. Total disappointment. I do not recommend them, the empanada dough is thick and has an acidic flavor.
I have been dying to try this place. Since being diagnosed with celiac disease, finding authentic delicious food with no substitutes or changes to the original recipe is tough. But this Venezuelan restaurant is fantastic!!! Pretty much everything is gluten-free. We had a few different empanadas, and they blew my mind. I will be back next time I have a chance. So satisfied!!!
Dietary restrictions: Almost everything is gluten-free.

Food wasn't bad but it was a very small portion for the price and to top it off the cashier refused to give change of $5 (of which I would have tipped $3 so I let it go).

Wow. All Venezuelan cuisine I've had is really delicious, but this went in directions I'd never experienced!
Vegetarian options: Clearly labeled vegan options, as well!

a friend of mine and I got five dishes to try. We both thought it was hard to Believe that all five were incredible. Great seasoning, well cooked and large portions. Patacon was incredible. Fresh and huge! The price was great especially for the high quality food and large portions. The service was fast and courteous. It gets busy but worth any wait!

Edited because I have since ordered another probably 8 times since and only once we received our sauce. I’m now flagged on grubhub for reporting it so often which is just insane when I keep having to eat a plain empanada with no sauce while being charged for it. I am so sad because when the food has its sauce it’s so good, I was even willing to pay the upped prices but not when 9/10 times I don’t get sauce but get charged for it. Definitely lost a very loyal customer.
I have this delivered often (2+ times a week) and didn’t have a problem in the past, but I am on my 4th order feeding my whole family (7+ items) and we get 1-2 sauces, I even specifically write it in my notes and it has you select which sauce for each dish so I don’t even get how this is consistently happening! It’s unlimited in store so I don’t get why they are all of a sudden stingy with the online orders! Give us the sauce we paid for!

Arempa Restaurant offers a touch of Venezuelan cuisine, but fails to fully capture the authentic flavors one might expect. The food is acceptable and has some traditional elements, but it clearly doesn't provide the authentic experience that people familiar with Venezuelan food might want.
The atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired. The tables are worn out, the floor is not as clean as it should be and the strong smells from the kitchen remain on your clothes when you leave. It feels more like a casual bar than a restaurant, which could appeal to a younger crowd or those looking for a quick bite while they're in town, especially those ages 21 to 35.
Also, the price is a bit high for the size of the dishes they offer, which can be a drawback. While the Arempa restaurant might attract a young, casual crowd, it would benefit from improvements in cleanliness, decor, and a little more attention to authentic flavors to stand out as a true Venezuelan food destination.
