Food was excellent and our service was top notch. Our group was visiting from out of state. We had a wonderful time and would definitely return if in SLC again.

Everything great except the brussel sprout appetizer which was extremely salty but service and other food was good.

The food was amazing. It was the host and waitress that made this review not a five star. The guy that sat us acted surprised to see us and when we said we had reservations he said “of course you do” He sat us in the bar where we waited 15 mins for our waitress to come. She was in the kitchen having a detailed conversation about her night the night before. We could hear her laughing and talking to the other waitress. We ordered the Fish Tacos, Hot Wings, lobster Mac and cheese, and the proper burger with fancy fries. Everything was amazing especially the burger. I ordered medium and would say it was rare but still delicious we also had the dessert which was ok.

The food was fresh, different and a delight for the palate! The service was fast and incredibly friendly. The waiter, Lucas couldn’t have been more attentive and pleasant without us feeling like he was intrusive. Overall…. A legit A++++++

Nice neighborhood spot. Just remember kids: chicken sausage is not an appropriate substitute for fried chicken. Other than that, carry on.

Phenomenal service.
Proper burger too salty. Too garlicky.
Proper dip - almost too salty too. The au joux is too salty.
Clam chowder tasted like bbq. Why?!
Fries too salty.

The fancy frites were phenomenal, and the thyme maple syrup with the French toast was so unique

Took quite some time to get our orders taken and when our drinks were empty it took a while to get them refilled. All in the party received their food but one and once that food came out everyone was nearly finished eating. The table wanted dessert but wasn't offered any so we went next door for ice cream.

I’m visiting from SF and I have to say my meal here at Avenues Proper was the best meal out I’ve had in months. The atmosphere and service were wonderful, so that’s always a pleasant surprise in the postpandemic world, but omg the food. The dishes were classics with a little twist (emphasis on “little”—it wasn’t one of those overwrought gastropub menus, it was classic chicken and waffles but the maple syrup was infused with thyme. Speaking of the chicken and waffles, this had to be the best version of this dish I’ve had since I was at Tupelo Honey Café’s original location in Asheville, NC). My friend ordered the arugula and beet salad and it was also very nice. For dessert we shared the strawberry shortcake special with no regrets lol.
