My go-to place for brunch in Salt Lake City! I'm there practically every Sunday. Brooklyn the hostess and the waitresses Hearty and Marina are so delightful and helpful. The blueberry pancake, the artichoke dip, the avocado toast, and the ricotta toast are just a few of my favorite dishes.

Was walking by and stepped inside to check out their menu and got to have a wonderful conversation with the owner. My foodie gf and her had a 20 min conversation about their food and so we decided that we would come eat here the next weekend.
And. damn.
Like, I was expecting it to be a good meal, the owner let us in on their process and the kind of work they go through to make their dishes, but it still surpassed my expectations. Normally I don't review each item I order, but since they made a real effort, I feel it's only fair I return the favor. We ordered a lot as it was kind of a date night and my foodie gf wanted to try a bunch o things.
Firstly, not a menu item, but the water comes in a fancy bottle which was cool and matched the restaurant's high end vibe.
We ordered the charcuterie board as an ap, and I still think about that coffee topped cheese to this day sometimes. The bread it came with also had a perfect texture.
We also grabbed the potato wedges. I got no complaints. Potato is pretty easy to get right but that bacon aioli gave it an edge over any other potato wedge I have had.
Unfortunately I do not remember what my gf ordered for herself. But I know she wouldn't stop talking about how much she liked it.
But what I do know Is I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana. and damn. that was my favorite plate of pasta I have ever eaten. I'm not a cook so I don't know how to describe what makes it an elevated dish, but basically imagine olive garden's Chicken Parm, but with better more flavorful ingredients, better control over texture, and with some actual effort when it came to presentation. I feel bad even comparing it to olive garden, as it's leagues better.
We also ordered a margherita pizza to share, as it's my favorite type of pizza and I have to find the perfect one someday by ordering it anywhere it is on the menu. This was not the perfect one unfortunately. But it may take the cake for being the best margherita in Sugarhouse. Perhaps the City.
Me and the gf intend to return. We intend to order more dishes. What's crazy is they also have another menu in the mornings for breakfast! The only downside to Bartolo's is the price. You are paying for that extra quality and attention to detail.
My wallet shivers in fear for our inevitable return.

DINNER REVIEW:
This was honestly the most disappointing meal I’ve had in a long time.
The Positive: Service was good, even when there are only 2 servers on the floor, our server was very kind and attentive, and cleared our plates and offered refills accordingly. We also had cocktails (espresso martini) which were very good, and the restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere. I always enjoy restaurants with an “open” style kitchen.
The Negatives: the food. Nothing besides the drinks were good. We ordered focaccia bread which was served cold. We also got an appetizer of the calamari which was the toughest, most overcooked I’ve ever had. For entrees, we got the lamb pasta and the carbonara. First, the “carbonara” is literally Alfredo sauce that has bacon dumped on it, not guanciale or even pancetta. It was also watery sauce, overall unpleasant. The lamb was also overcooked and dry, ruining what could have been an okay dish.
Overall, I see a lot of positive reviews about brunch, so maybe that’s where this place shines, but otherwise a disappointing food experience for dinner.

Had the caprese pasta and it was to DIE for. For once the photos on Google Maps were actually what the food looked like. And it tasted even better. Everything is made in house, even the NOODLES. YUMMMMMMMMY.

Unique and varied menu. A party of 6 and 2 hot dishes were initially served cold. Servers were amenable to replacing with hot dishes. All dishes ordered were enjoyed.

Went for brunch with a few other couples. All the food seemed ok but nothing to get too excited about. No one got pasta which I’m still curios about. I got the fried pork chop. It was a show stopper by sight but the grease over ran the plate and saturated all of the greens that came with it. It was also a large portion with nothing really other than meat…and the soggy greasy greens.
Service was good. Ambiance was good.

Came here to celebrate mom's birthday, and it was a very wise and satisfying choice! It is easy to say this is the best Italian restaurant i have been to in Salt Lake City so far. The food is amazing. Our server is super friendly and has excellent recommendations. We liked every dishes we ordered! We ordered the grilled octopus, grilled garlic butter bread as appetizers, lamb campanelle, pistachio pesto campanelle, Tuscan salmon, and cobb salad as entries, Brigadeiro as desert, all wonderful. We will certainly be back!
Parking: There is a parking lot adjacent to the restaurant with about 10-15 spots, but you can just drive around the block and find plenty of neighborhood street parking.
