You'd think with how much they charge, they could afford to actually put lobster in their lobster bisque. They changed the recipe, so there's hardly any actual lobster anymore, but don't worry, there's PLENTY of tomato chunks. It's sad and frustrating when big companies go cheap.
Also, there is waaaaay too much salt in their soups. Their tomato basil soup IS pretty good, but it has enough salt to almost give an average adult their ENTIRE recommended daily sodium intake. That's no exaggeration. The recommended amount per day is 2,300 mg and a full portion of this soup has 2,180 mg.
Other than all that, and how overpriced their menu items are, and the fact that they took away the best soup ever (the red pepper bisque), Zupas is pretty darn good. They have a good selection of yummy sandwiches, and their drinks are refreshing. Service is always good.
EDIT: I just learned the lobster they had/have in their bisque is NOT real lobster anyway. They claim it is, but I haven't found any proof that it's real lobster. And I've seen reviews bring it up, and the manager of the store would comment but completely avoid the topic of whether or not it's real lobster. Very fishy indeed....

I had a lunch catering order for a work meeting. I set everything up on the website and when the meeting was pushed back I called the store and they generously pushed back the pickup time. When I came in they were busy but still provided me excellent service. The order wasn't ready yet so they gave me a cup for a free drink (buying a little time for them to complete the order) and when I got back it was good to go! The food was fresh, hot, and made perfectly. The cookies are also to die for. I had one meal that was gluten free and left a note stating such, and management had the entire crew change gloves to prevent cross-contamination. The crew was very considerate and went above and beyond on my order! Then they called a couple hours later to make sure that the order was correct and asking about ways to improve. Other fast food places should take note! I was very impressed by this store and extremely grateful to them for making this catering order as smooth as possible. The catering director was also a sweetheart and loved chatting with her. I hope to be ordering again there soon!
Dietary restrictions: Our gluten free order was perfect! The crew took their time making sure that there was no cross-contamination.
The Sugarhouse Zupas has by far the kindest people I’ve met! Shiloh, Izzy, Betty and Isaac are an unstoppable crew and I cannot wait to get delicious food from them again!
