I ordered online for a 12:30 pickup. When I got there there was no where to park and I needed to get my food. I finally parked illegally expecting my food to be done. When I got in the line was small but they hadn’t even started my order. I could have ordered in the store and saved time. I will not go back to this location. They are too busy of a restaurant with the horrible location and parking.

Parking: The parking during lunch is impossible to find. You have to keep moving in the parking lot to finally get someone coming out of the store.

I had an unpleasant experience at this location. When I asked the cashier on duty for a glass of water, who spoke Spanish and looked Hispanic, he told me in a threatening manner that I should drink water and not other drinks. It was the first time I came to this place and the man was already accusing me of having drinks without paying. They should expel him, since it is possible that he makes those types of accusations and treats customers like that. Even though we are both Hispanic I felt that his message was somewhat racist. He stereotyped me from the beginning. The attitude of these workers in this location is regrettable.

I don't know why I keep ordering pick up orders at this location. They very rarely have the order ready when it's supposed to be ready and every time I get my food it's not hot. I really want to like this place because it's close to my house and I like these smothered burritos, but this pick up order situation sucks. In the amount of time that it took them to prepare the order, I could have ordered a burrito in line and ate it. Maybe that's what I should do next time.

Ordered 2 burritos and asked for shredded chicken and pinto beans and got a burrito with only rice and black beans

My son and I flew into Salt Lake City on an early flight from Philadelphia - our first time flying to Utah - to see my daughter who lives in Provo.
We were two hours ahead and ready for lunch and she recommended Cafe Rio and to get the sweet pork. ✅
We were their first customers and it was like they were happy we were there. My son loved that they have the traditional horchata drink and in addition to my sweet pork burrito- which was so delicious with the fresh pico and cilantro - I tried their Elotes (Mexican street corn) and that was also incredible, super fresh and creamy. The manager brought a little lime pie to us with the whipped cream & strawberries - wow. Don’t miss it.
The store was really clean and bright, and it was getting busy by the time we left - which is a good sign for a restaurant on a Monday morning before noon. I wish I lived here, I’d come back a lot.

This place hasn't even been opened a year and I can already tell management has ZERO standards for quality of food and communication to customers.

This last time I ordered nachos and the cheese came on it unmelted and cold. Like straight from the fridge without going through the oven. They don't make anything right here. The salads are always just full of chunky stems. And uncut leaves

Every costa vida I've been to has such higher standards AND they don't charge for queso on nachos (as it should be) Costa Vida also understands how to cut lettuce for salads so you aren't just getting a mouthful of stem or a giant leaf. This location is a new low for an already low standard company.

I work right near this place but I opt to go to the McDonald's 15-20 times more often because this cafe rio is such do-do. Wouldn't it be nice to just have a good place to eat nearby

I called in a to go order and it was 5 minutes late from the time I was promised and when I pick up the order everything was stuffed in one bag. When I opened the bag a container of dressing had opened and gotten all over the containers. It was a big mess!
