Great little coffee shop with craft coffee! Coffee is delicious and well balanced. Note that there are no alternative milk options, for those who don’t do dairy. I love the hummingbird wallpaper on the walls.

Excellent coffee, small cozy shop, but too much bragging (this specialty quality espresso is not so rare, at least not in Italy, Brazil, Portugal and other places that I’ve had)

I’ve visited nearly every coffee shop in the valley, and this is the best coffee I've ever had. This is operated by someone who truly loves coffee as a craft.

I don’t often write reviews, but when you go to a place this special you truly get compelled to do so. I had a flight of espressos that culminated in a $80 shot that was the singular best sip of coffee that I’ve ever had. I sat for a good 20 minutes after and just let the flavors wash over and over. The best coffee experience I’ve ever had by a wide margin.

Spent an hour here deliberately tasting a delicious cup of siphon coffee. There were a few options from Colombia and Costa Rica. I chose the Yemeni beans/roast. A true craft coffee experience and the owner is happy to share his extensive knowledge with those who are curious!

John is one of a kind. You’re not going to find higher quality espresso anywhere in the state. I regularly order beans from world class roasters and they are amazing yet John’s are consistently better. I buy an espresso and a bag of his expertly roasted beans every time I come to SLC. I also pick his brain for an hour or so if I am lucky enough to stop by when no one else is there. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Coffee is good. Unfortunately, the experience is overshadowed by the owner’s attitude. He came across as cold and unwelcoming, which made the visit uncomfortable. Customer service is just as important as the product, and a bit of hospitality training could go a long way here. Without good service, even great coffee won’t keep people coming back.

One of the best coffee shops in the world. Period. “.”
You go, you pay for exquisite coffee and on top of that you get a free lesson on coffee, beans, procedure, history, topology etc. I don’t live in SLC, but many times I’ve redesigned my work trips around SLC just to go to this place. 5 out of 5 stars is simply not enough. I give this place an 11/5.
Enjoy.

Such a fun experience. Incredible craft coffee you can’t get anywhere else. The owner is very knowledgeable about the field.
You can get coffee but reserve the bar for 3 if you want the best. I was told there were only a handful of syphon coffee baristas in the US and this gentleman is one of them. Make sure you have more than an hour and be ready for lots of talking from the other side of the counter. Besides the long winded answers, it is a very interesting/ good experience. It is approximately $30 - $50 for the syphon coffee experience. Bar holds up to 3 people.
Is the coffee tasting worth the price of admission? I’d say for sure. Won’t find it anywhere else. Might seem exorbitant, but really a once in a lifetime sort of situation. Very informative, and of course the coffee is phenomenal. If you’re a fan of tasting coffee, then give it a try. If you enjoy pumpkin spice lattes, not the place for you.
This is truly the sales prevention team in action. I can appreciate the quality of the coffee being served, however the owner was very snarky and condescending towards us looking for a cup of coffee. He made it clear to us, this is no ordinary coffee shop, whatever. The coffee is yummy, the experience was really terrible.
Visited Caffe D’Bolla about a month ago now and it was an incredible unique learning experience. I am definitely a beginner when it comes to coffee and very much enjoyed John (the owner’s) straightforward answers. I took many notes, asked a lot of questions, learned a lot, and left with an even higher level of appreciation of coffee! ☕️
