I would say the taste is quite bland. Price is Ok but the taste totally changed my impression of SLC.

On a recent trip to Salt Lake City, we visited Chinatown because we always have to eat chinese food wherever we go. Out of all the restaurants available in Salt Lake's Chinatown Center, we picked this restaurant because the menu had a variety, in addition to having dim sum. We were not sure what to expect since you couldn't judge a restaurant by its cover! Inside has a dated decor, a bit of a wait, but it was worth it. We ordered some dim sum, beef chow fun, and shrimp egg foo young (even though I'm Chinese, I love egg foo young)!! The portion was generous. The food was authentic, fresh, and delicious. We also got some buns to go. AND best of all, you can't beat the price!! If we are ever in Utah again, we will definitely come back.

Extremely slow, unprofessional service, dirty seating and tables, and the WORST FOOD I’ve ever had. Panda Express is better, cheaper, and you won’t have to wait. My friend and I both felt sick right after eating here, and we didn’t even take our leftovers with us (which is saying something for us because we’re cheap and we love leftovers).

The food takes a minute, but it is WORTH IT. The service can be slow but there are only a couple employees.

Normally if I go to a really good Chinese restaurant, I ignore things like decor and service in exchange for really good Chinese food. China Town Eatery seems to be the best of both worlds- decent dim sum and noodle soup options, as well as cleanliness, friendliness, and fast service! Mandarin, Cantonese, and English are spoken by the staff, so you'll likely be able to find someone and order in the language you are most comfortable with. We had our family group of four plus one toddler, and were able to find seating and had a baby seat given to us quickly. The menu is quite large, with dim sum offerings, a large bakery selection that includes char su baos and bolo baos, noodle soups, and dishes for family-style eating. The one area of improvement I see is that there was a lack of knowledge about vegan options as well as an overall shortage of options. Which, for an authentic Chinese eatery with a bakery, is fairly common and mostly a flaw in the overall cuisine. My dad asked about vegetarian options and we were pointed to the vegetable menu, which wasn't quite the same and had items with oyster sauce on them. I did find a tofu noodle soup, though.

My husband and I will 110% come back soon! We got the orange chicken, house special fried rice, pot stickers, sio mai, and beef with mixed veggies, and a pineapple custard bun for dessert. Everything was SO GOOD. Really nice flavors, great portions for the price. Service was great and friendly, if a little slow because they have few staff. But that was actually nice because the food came out slowly, so we actually enjoyed each plate instead of having a full table all at once. Highly recommend!!

This Chinese dive is rusty, cramped, dated with slow service. Saturday morning and there was one server/cashier working. I ordered the parsley beef balls, Sui mai and bean curd skin roll. Bean curd rolls were small sized (half the size of regular restaurants) bland mostly mushroom (where's the meat?!?) Sui mai was more bearable. Why they would use imagination roe I don't understand (tapioca pearls with orange food coloring) Something tells me this is not house made. After waiting 30 mins they brought me the wrong order ... beef balls which were also flavorless and chewy. OVERALL the slowest dum sum service...if you're in the mood for Chinese takeout quality food (this would be an insult to Chinese takeout) this your place.

Hits the spot. Everything I ordered tasted like I would get in LA. Some items in my takeout order were missing and I came back a few days later and the staff was able to accommodate, super kind of them. Highly recommend :)

The food was excellent! We tried a few entrees as well as dim sum and all was great. I will definitely be going back.

The food is definitely fresh, just lacks a bit of flavor. The shrimp noodle rolls were great, and I also got some beef with noodles dish that was also good but needed some flavor. Otherwise it all borderlines oily. Still good, fresh and the servers were nice.

Dim sum, we ordered a bunch to share with our group. I forgot to take a picture of most of the stuff. We dug right in.I plan to come back and order a rice casserole dish. A friend ordered one and shared it. Everything was good and made from scratch. Recommend ordering the pork sticky buns.

The food is always amazing, but the service tends to be slow due to having only one server and one chef.
