Great food, but NOT a good place to chat with friends over lunch or have a business meeting. The music is kept WAY LOUD. Don't get me wrong, it is great music that I listen to regularly, but they just have the volume way up for a sit-down restaurant. One can't have a conversation. I asked politely if they could lower the volume just a little because we were having a work meeting. They did lower the volume but then crancked it up again after a few minutes (as if they were making a statement). It is unfortunate because the food is good and our work is always looking for nearby restaurants for group meetings over lunch. We usually go to Chile Tepin, which is great. We wanted something different.

On a positive note, food is great. I tried their Huarache with alpastor meat, and it was quite delicious. Next time, I will ask for the food to go and for sure not consider this place for a work/friends lunch.

Chungas used to be my go to for tacos al pastor. Now it is just good, not great.

We were planning on going to Red Iguana, but a 45 minute wait was beyond our timeframe (had a waxing appt rapidly approaching).

We searched and found Chunga’s, luckily around the corner, it was just down the street (watch out for the homeless dog on the way, they’re monsters).

Wow, our first time @ Chunga’s they gave us free drinks, a free sombrero, gave my daughter a Quinceañera, and the food was WAY better than McDonalds too!

Can’t wait to see what happens on the second visit, free beer and a pony??

Great customer service (I always call customer service to verify they’re not robots) and I loved the enchiladas (didn’t get them, but watched the other customers eat them, and they looked happy, most of them at least). And it was way faster than FedEx too!

Best place for some great food for a good price. I’m vegetarian and I love the zucchini flower enchiladas and quesadilla. Nice people working here too.

Sadly I didn't get a chance to taste the food they didn't want to take my order when they had 20 mins and they were still cooking some orders, frustrating that they couldn't take a order to go...

This is a little unknown Utah restaurant amazing flavors great prices but it's a little hole in the wall so a lot of people don't know about it truly recommend their al pastor burrito smothered in green sauce I've gotten a few and brought them to my neighbors and they fell in love with the food

This is as original Latin American food as you can get anywhere in Salt Lake City. Outstanding portions bursting with flavor. I highly recommend the tacos al pastor. If you want the feel of a true Latino family restaurant then Chunga’s is it. Don’t expect a fancy atmosphere here, but do expect great food and service!

You can’t go wrong with the tacos! The Al Pastor is delicious (pineapple pork). Visiting from out of town, this was a great choice to make our visit memorable.

It is no longer what it was before, I was fascinated by this place. Right now it's already very basic. Before they served you water in a glass, the tacos had a different flavor and had a lot of meat and no skin. It was never cheap compared to other places, but it was the best taqueria in all of Utah. I think it changed since the owner stopped being there. Only the memory remains
