I came here with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday, and I’ve never been treated so poorly, or physically mishandled, at any venue.
We were a younger group (all in our 20s), and honestly, we brought the energy and a big crowd to the club. My group was planning on visiting other bars, but I was able to convince them to check out Try-Angles first after praising them for having no cover and fairly-priced drinks. There were around nine of us after we got some more friends to head over- all buying drinks and minding our business on the dance floor.
At one point, the birthday guest briefly hit his vape while dancing. I didn't see this happen as I was keeping to myself and trying to enjoy the music, so I was completely unaware until the DJ stopped the music entirely to call over security and I pieced it together. A man came over and kicked him out without warning or explanation. I was already a bit confused by the severity of response, considering most bars downtown are full of vaping patrons- and a reasonable response in my book would be a stern warning or a kinder request for the guest to reserve their habit for the back patio. My friend is also an incredibly respectful and kind individual, who later explained how humiliating this was for him... saying he would've apologized and stopped immediately if he was just asked and feeling guilt for what he believed was him ruining his birthday celebration for us all.
The rest of my group stayed dancing peacefully, no one else was vaping or causing any issues. We’re the most easy-going crowd you can wish for. Then, the same security guard approached us and aggressively told us to “get out now.” It felt completely uncalled for. The friend who vaped had already been removed, and now the rest of us were being spoken to with hostility and told to leave without cause. I couldn’t just head out without asking for clarification.
I calmly responded in a concerned tone that none of us had vaped indoors, and pointed out that the guard had no way of knowing whether we were even part of the same group… for all he knew, we could’ve just been an unrelated party that was dancing near him. I asked why we were being asked to leave, hoping for a fair answer. Before I could finish my sentence, without hesitation- the guard put his arm around my neck and forcibly dragged me out of the club with excessive force.
I’ve never disrespected staff at any establishment, and I did nothing to justify being manhandled like that. I would never disrespect or touch bar staff and I expect to be treated the same. To make things worse, I’m recovering from foot surgery and was wearing a medical boot, with surgical hardware still sticking out of my foot. My brother yelled that I’d just had surgery, but the guard continued dragging me anyway. I was shocked, humiliated, and in pain- for doing nothing more than speaking up and asking a question when I felt that an unfair situation was occurring. This put me in significant risk of injury.
Even the bouncer outside apologized to me after witnessing it. Other patrons who left after us approached us, agreeing the situation was shocking and uncalled for.
This wasn’t just bad service… it was borderline assault. I left shaken and in disbelief. The club didn’t just lose our business; they lost an entire group of respectful, paying customers who genuinely came to celebrate and support the venue. When your employee treats kind, rule-abiding guests with such aggression... you have a serious issue to address.
I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone- especially if you value safety, respect, or basic human decency.
They automatically add tips to your check, this is crazy never coming here again
Well, based on the negative reviews, SLC is filled with sheltered Karen's who don't know what a grunge bar is. I dig a hole in the wall bar like this, giving off Stonewall vibes. The staff was friendly and approachable. The drinks were as good as they could be in Utah. 😂
Cheap drinks, bartenders are always nice, and there’s no cover fee. Only issue is sometimes the older guys can be creeps so definitely don’t go into the bathroom by yourself, stick with a friend
They have good pink lemonade
Disrespectful to their guests
Old school, chill, and the sweetest most polite humans.
Love this bar as a lesbian who wants to drink with other gays but doesn’t want a bunch of strobe lights and blasting music. Really chill place 🩷
The staff and patrons are very anti women. They are rude and unhelpful and unwelcoming to anyone who doesn’t identify as a gay man. I have been here 3 times and every time I feel unwelcome and discriminated against for being a woman. On Pride weekend in SLC, Titan is specific was rude and harsh and downright hateful. I do not recommend anyone going here if they respect women. There are plenty of beautiful and accepting LGBTQIA+ clubs/bars in SLC to go to. Don’t go here.
Fun locals gay bar with friendly bar tenders and decent service. We played pool which is tight but doable.

I haven't been to an event night in years and had to park a few blocks away over at 9 S Trax station and was standing room only at one point. Had some fun and probably back soon but just be aware of the limited parking situation

As far as bars goes it's not bad. Loud music, no dance floor, cliquish groups of guys. I had to wait like 5-10 minutes every time I wanted a drink.
We love August! This place is very friendly and best place for good cheap drinks! Great sense of community and good music!
A great little of gay bar on an operated locally. Different theme nights and a fun place to spend a weekend evening.

There’s potential here. I realize it’s Sunday so no one is out
