After a long morning at the U of U fertility clinic, my wife and I stepped into Corner Bakery hoping for a quick, decent breakfast—and walked out pleasantly surprised by just how dialed-in this place is. The location is ideal—literally across from the U’s clinics—making it a perfect spot for a relaxed meal post-appointment or a pre-work bite.
You’re welcomed by a calming, clean interior with classic cafe vibes: warm wood tones, iconic diner energy, and a laid-back pace that feels local. We were greeted immediately by a kind staff member who offered to warm our cinnamon roll (yes, it’s worth it) and even asked how many sets of silverware we needed—a thoughtful touch you don’t often get at casual spots.
We ordered the Anaheim Scrambler and chose different sides—oatmeal for me and fresh fruit for my wife. The oatmeal came with a dash of cinnamon sugar and was the real deal—not cheap instant oats, but full-bodied, hearty grains. The fruit was surprisingly fresh and ripe, with crisp grapes, sweet melon, and no filler. The scrambler itself was fantastic: fluffy eggs, well-balanced seasoning, chopped tomato and green onion throughout, and creamy avocado slices on top. Every bite felt both indulgent and light.
The food came out fast—impressively fast, especially given how many other people were dining in. Our table was clean and well-lit, and there was plenty of space to settle in. We also noticed their shaded outdoor patio with string lights and comfortable seating—had it been warmer, we would’ve enjoyed that spot for sure.
Corner Bakery also has a full pastry case at the front if you’re in the mood for a grab-and-go sweet. Our cinnamon roll was gooey, soft, and generously frosted. Pro tip: ask for it warmed.
Ample parking is available right in front of the restaurant, which is a nice bonus for a location this central.
Final take: this place nails speed, freshness, and hospitality. It’s casual comfort food done right—and the kind of spot that makes you want to come back.
5 stars. Would absolutely return.

The food was so plain and so rough I had to end up ordering something different from another place. The Mac and cheese was so terrible it had no flavor at all. Their tomato basil soup was chunky and gross. I will never eat here again nor would I recommend it to anyone.

The soup and sandwiches were worth the price. The service was great with friendly staff and a great cook. I have driven past this restraunt several times and wanted to try it over the years, but until tonight, I overlooked it. Now, after trying it, I will go back again.

Nothing was fresh
VERY DISAPPOINTED 😞
Came on a Sunday. Got Oatmeal cookie, filled croissant, maple bar, mini bunt cake, Shrimp Scampi, and Turkey and Avacado .
Everything was stale. The croissant was days old as was every baked good. This stuff should have been on the reduced pice shelf at the local grocery store.
Been wanting to come for years and dont need to again.
Oh and the cost for stale food....
Dont get me started.

Restaurantji Recommends
I was disappointed by the club Panini and chocolate croissant. The bread on the sandwich was very dry and stale and the turkey was just thick sliced deli meat. The chocolate croissant was a tragedy. Absolutely no chew, all crunch. I think it must have been baked a week ago, but it was warm. The environment was welcoming and we enjoyed our water.

Food is good, just a little bit too sweet. Service is good, people are friendly. Location is good, you can stop by when you are in zoo or garden area. Parking lot is big.
