This bakery is a part of our family's traditions. The rum cakes they make, my husband and his sister grew up having for their birthdays each year. When we got married, we continued that tradition with our own family. We moved to Iowa and truly miss visiting Glaus! They make the most delicious things!

Amazing cakes, the black and white is my favorite! They even do fun decorated ones around holidays 😊

All of there things are amazing. Love the chocolate rum cake, etc etc etc. I just hope they are using the original recipes that the original owners used.

Go back to the original recipes!! Original ingredients. I feel lost without Chocolate Rum cake! Whatever changes have been made to the recipe are terrible. You have so many loyal customers who are not going to come back. Please have the original owners come in and teach you how to make these cakes taste good again.

I would highly recommend the brown butter sugar cookies! Delicious food and pleasant staff. It's a cute little place that makes some fantastic desserts you're not going to find in the grocery store. They're a great place to go for an event that you'd like to order some sweet things for, can't recommend those cookies enough!

Absolutely amazing treats and sweets! Been going there for many many years. I guess I can say I'm a second generation to keep coming to get birthday cakes and sweets. They even did my wedding cake back in 2014. Very friendly people too!

We were very disappointed this year with the quality of the pastries we bought for Christmas morning. They used to be so fresh, moist and tasty. This year they were dry and had very little flavor. We miss the old owners!

My 4 generations of family would travel from all over the Salt Lake Valley to buy the chocolate rum cake and wedges for birthdays, special occasions and to fullfill that sweet tooth craving. Sadly we have stopped buying because the recipie is no longer the same as it was not long ago.

They have great soup bowls. Good brown sugar cookies. Some of the best sourdough bread.

Best bakery in town. The butter cream frosting is to die for. The staff is happy, energetic and always friendly. I love Glaus baked goods because they are not overdone. You know, how everything always has to be so double this and triple layered that over the top, cherry on top... I love the decades old recipies that never change but always leave me wanting more. Simple, pure and very sweet! Thank you Glaus!

I purchased two quarter sheet cakes for a joint 75th birthday party for my parents. Two cakes because one parent likes chocolate on chocolate and the other parent likes strawberries and white cake. My sisters were a little shocked at the price of two quarter sheet cakes and wondered why I'd spent that kind of money when a store bought cake would have served the purpose. Well, you only turn 75 once. When my sisters tasted the cakes they both came to me and with a mouth full of cake saying, "Worth every penny!" The cakes were a huge hit with the entire family and extended family! So much so, that my brother-in-law insisted that my wedding cake--wedding scheduled two months later--be purchased from Glaus French Bakery. And, I just placed my wedding cake order today! Fresh ingredients and care in the details makes for an unforgettable cake experience!

We've gotten a few yummy things from here lately for my son's birthday. Their princess cakes are divine (marzipan coating, we added the decorations in the photo), so we ordered a little one to celebrate our little guy and even though it was small, they decorated it beautifully for him. Also got a chocolate rum cake later on and some danishes, and those were also delicious. The staff here are cheery and very helpful. This bakery is a great find!

Review as of 6.9.18 For 30 years we have religiously ordered the Boston Cream cake from here for mu birthday, my mom and my sister's. For 30 years we knew we were getting the best Boston Cream cake in town. Sadly this bakery is under new management and quite frankly their cakes suck! The Boston Cream was made completely wrong. The cake is too dense and looks store bought from a box, there was no custard filing, they had chocolate filing instead, the whipped cream frosting was melty and not at all taut and, lastly the decorations on the top were quite sad. This WAS my favorite bakery. Now searching for a local French bakery that can make me the Boston Cream I once loved. The pic below is from when the cakes used to be spot on. Old review Oct 2017 Usually they get it right... just not today for my daughters birthday. Regardless, love the eclairs and the Boston Cream Cake!
