Chicken Tandoori A flavorful, tender, and beautifully spiced dish that I can’t recommend enough.
Tandoori Chicken The smoky, spicy flavors of the Tandoori Chicken are simply unforgettable.
Gurkha Chilli Bhajii These crispy, spicy bhajis are full of bold flavors and perfectly cooked.
The Saag Paneer has a great balance of spices and creaminess—a vegetarian delight."
Awesome spot. Been going for years and is still just as good if not better. Also seems to be family/ community run by very nice people so you get 1) a good homecooked meal, and 2) to support actual good people instead of a big chain

A good measure of your favorite meal is something that you can eat three times a day and never get tired of it. This is Gurkhas for me. Indian/Nepali is my favorite cuisine, but Gurkhas is by far the best in the valley and Park City. We dined at Gurkhas for both the lunch buffet and dinner and are huge fans of both. For me, it is better than Kathmandu and Bombay House combined. One taste of their daal makhani brought me back to the fresh daal bhat we enjoyed in Nepal. Gurkhas is the kind of restaurant that we go out of our way to enjoy. Some favorites: samosa chat, vegetable kofta, chicken momos, chicken/veggie coconut korma, daal makhani, saag paneer, chili chicken, and chicken tikka masala. Can’t wait to eat here again!

Our absolute favorite place to get midday buffet lunch. Couldn’t ask for a better restaurant. The staff is so sweet and friendly! Best chicken tikka masala in town!

Our family just had food at the lunch buffet. Very reasonably priced and the food was really good. I wish some of the dishes had had a little more spice, but, since it was a buffet, I am sure they were trying to accommodate the masses. The atmosphere could only be described as peaceful and calming. I would like to try it for dinner some time.

Restaurantji Recommends
I’m an Indian food fanatic in the Salt Lake Valley. I’ve probably been to just about every Indian restaurant in the area, especially in the Holladay/Milcreek area.
This is hands down the most BLAND Indian food I have eaten…. Anywhere. It’s Bland and borderline gross.
The chicken tikka masala was dry and somehow had very little flavor other than tomato. It seems as if they took chicken grilled earlier and threw it in a gross soupy sauce and serve it to you.
The chicken tandoori was again….. dry and bland. Whenever I get a great chicken tandoori I get grilled/sautéed onion/peppers in a rich sauce. This was raw vegetables in an astonishingly bland sauce that was served…. Lukewarm. Again, seems like a dish put together with pre cooked ingredients. (Minus the veggies of course).
The aloo gobi was downright disgusting. The “sauce” was more of a soup and once again……. You guessed it: it was bland as can be. I am happy they decided to actually cook my vegetables this time.
To top it all off. I ordered it to go and had a coupon for 2 free drinks if I paid more than $30. The online checkout gave me an option to add 4 drinks. I received a note with my two drinks saying I didn’t spend $60 so they wouldn’t give me two additional drinks that most likely cost them less than 25 cents because of THEIR mistake. Talk about cheap. I suppose when your restaurant is this terrible, you have to save money somewhere.
Please do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Salt Lake has amazing Indian food and you’d just waste your money here.

The ambiance was cozy and culturally rich, with beautiful Nepali decor that added to the overall experience. It felt like a little piece of Nepal in the heart of the city.
Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Nepali food in a comfortable and friendly environment. I will definitely be returning .
