I stumbled across this small intimate feeling sushi place. I ordered the Shrimp Tempura Bento (substitute extra gyoza for california roll) & Vegetable Tempura. The tempura was very light & perfectly textured. The pumpkin & sweet potato are especially yummy. The bento box was beautifully displayed. The gyoza tasted delicious. The salad dressing a little tart to off set the rice, and tempura. The miso was warm and exactly what you expect from miso soup.Definitely a place I plan to come back to for another great dining experience.

Tried to place a to go order 40 min before closing. They took our order and then asked us to wait while they talk with the kitchen. 10 minutes later they said that our order could not be made. Will not be returning after that kind of service.

Do not use their online ordering system. If they dont have an item in stock, you will still pay the full amount before they decline your order. They will keep your money for up to 3 days before you get it back.

The staff were kind, the atmosphere was nice. The food? Some of the best sushi I've had in Utah -- I highly recommend it. I don't think you will be disappointed!! The lobster roll was my favorite. My wife and I both left feeling completely satisfied ?

I didn’t have high hopes walking into this place but BOY was I wrong to assume! The area is quite nice and the service was quick and attentive. Food was great, we thought it would be fun to get the Funky White Boy Sushi Roll which was SO good along with the Flaming U which was lit on fire before our eyes. (It was incredible!!) We got another one that I forgot the name of but every roll was great. Would recommend!

Wonderful sushi option in SLC! Between the quality of the food, service, and price- this place is a winner! Definitely a must try for sushi fans in Salt Lake.

I discovered Hi Sushi only today.Outstanding food. Hajeong was the essence of charm and the Sushi Chef prepared a simple but delicious spicy yellowtail roll. That, plus Miso and Gyoza, comprised a wonderful, simple lunch.Go try for yourself! Please tell them Mister Sustainability sent you!

Service was terrible. It wasn't crowded at all, but it took asking several times and waiting a good 20 minutes to get a highchair for our 1 year old, despite the family who came in behind us getting theirs immediately. They didn't get us all the rolls we ordered (even though she had me repeat the ones that ended up missing when we first ordered). They didn't bring out enough plates. No pickled ginger or soy sauce. The sushi was just mediocre. The Funky sauce has Wasabi in it, which I've never been to a restaurant that didn't disclose that on the menu. Small rolls. We spent $80 for a pretty disappointing meal.

I have been going to Hi Sushi for years. Recently they changed ownership. I wanted this neighborhood restaurant to do well, but I doubt they will stay in business long.Food: There was no care or flavor. I think the grocery store probably is better. They mixed stringy seaweed into my rice that was unchewable so I had to pull long hair like strings out of my mouth while eating. One fish tasted fishy, the others had no flavor at all. There was not anything worth taking a picture of, the last owners put care into the food and you could see and taste it. The miso soup was ice cold.Service: They forgot part of our order and tried giving us the bill for items we never got. They fixed the bill when I told them they didn't give us the last rolls we ordered. While taking our order, the waitresses would yell questions to the chef and they would yell back across the restaurant. I can't say anything good about the service.Alcohol: No liquor license.I won't be going back. I wish they cared about the art of Japanese food.
