The cauliflower and pork were delicious!! Definitely going back!
The atmosphere is contemporary and chic. The service is professional and welcoming as well as very accomodating. Food was very fresh tasting with many uncommonly featured ingredients
This place is our go to date night. We always dress up a bit fancier than we need to, but the service is on par with some of the classiest places I have been. Always warm, accommodating and heartfelt, the wait staff has a lot to show the rest of salt lake. Come for the service, stay for the food.
Fantastic food, service and environment. Fantastic may be an understatement! Please check it out and find several things you’ll love!
Great food, great service, and great aesthetics!
Experience doesn’t match reviews. Food was average and menu is a bit pretentious.
The biscuits is a biscuit and it is very dry.
Gnocchi is flavorful but not as firm as it should be
Fried chicken is well cooked but Mac n cheese and collards were not good nor are the flavors complimentary
Waitress was super nice but missed an allergy and we told them we were in a hurry and food took almost an hour to the point we had to inghalr lt and run+ leave a full drink we paid for.
Best Valentines Day Experience❤️
The atmosphere was great, our server was great, we had the General Tso’s cauliflower and it was great, the mocktails were great too, the winter salad was ok the biscuit a chunk of starch and then unfortunately the whole thing fell apart with the burger and the fries that came with it. The burger was dry and fairly tough and the bun almost burnt and the fries limp instead of crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. A disappointment for a place that based on the other dishes should be able to do better. This was a first try and I will give them a second chance. If the food is better I will up the rating.
The burger isn’t good. The hamburger bun is way too big. I don’t know who approved that hamburger bun.
An outstanding restaurant specializing in farm to table and fine dining. Food and service was excellent. Atmosphere is loud and not the best for a romantic meal, but that shouldn’t stop you from trying this gastronomical spot!

Atmosphere is chill for a date night.
Had the steak and the fried chicken.
A Culinary Gem Let Down by Service – HSL Review
We dined at HSL for Valentine’s Day, eager to experience their renowned cuisine—and the kitchen absolutely delivered. The food was stunning, both visually and in flavor. Every dish reflected the chef’s artistry, with layers of taste and texture that should be winning awards. However, the front-of-house experience didn’t match the excellence coming from the kitchen.
From the hostess to our server and the food runner, there was a surprising lack of engagement and enthusiasm. It felt like the incredible food was being presented without the care and celebration it deserved. Our server was robotic in her interactions, offering no real description or story behind the dishes. For example, when a gorgeous plate of carrots arrived, the only word we heard was, “Carrots.” No mention of their harissa oil drizzle or how they were prepared—just “carrots.” They turned out to be melt-in-your-mouth delicious, leaving us curious about the components and techniques that made them so special.
The pacing of the meal was another disappointment. Dishes arrived too quickly, as if we were on a conveyor belt. We had to ask the server to slow down and let us savor each course individually. She had assumed we wanted all our small plates and sides brought out simultaneously—rushing through what should have been a thoughtfully paced dining experience.
When we inquired with the floor manager about the mole sauce—a feature of the staff’s favorite dish—he had no answer beyond, “I’ll have to ask.” A signature dish, and the manager couldn’t describe what made it special? That lack of knowledge was disheartening.
At spending $75-$100 per person, I expect not just exceptional food but also a front-of-house staff who take pride in presenting and celebrating the meal. Passion from the kitchen should be contagious, extending beyond the plate and into the dining experience.
HSL is undoubtedly home to some of the best food I’ve had in Utah. But the front-of-house service is a disservice to the incredible talent in the back. The meal was memorable, but sadly, the service left us underwhelmed. I sincerely hope the restaurant addresses this gap because the chef and their team truly deserve to have their creations celebrated, not just served.
Forgettable and overpriced. The food was ok but did not justify prices and portions when compared to other restaurants on the area.
The food was just ok. Maybe I expected too much. It was trying to be upscale dining and certainly was priced as such, but overall it was a bit of a let down.
Went with a group of girlfriends and the food was amazing and the service was excellent! We will all be back!
