During an active shooter situation the bouncer at the door refused to allow people to shelter inside. Had the situation been worse, this would have cost lives. Shame. You have lost my business permanently.
Chill spot to go when your boring friends want to sit around a table and gossip instead of having any fun <3 staff are always quick, friendly, and funny. No foooooood.
the amount of horror stories i’ve heard about this place from friends is actually insane. i decided to go here a while back with a few friends and experienced one for myself. the bartenders are very rude and we got kicked out for really no reason. so, if you wanna be treated like crap for not being one of their alcoholic regulars, this is your bar.
My best friend works here so I may be a little biased.
I come here in the early pm so I can't speak to the night crowd but Johnny's has some cheap specials and what's not on draft then they have a decent selection of bottles and cans. From what I've heard, poker Saturdays are fun. If you want to watch sports there are quite a few TVs where they are playing and even a movie playing too. Bunch of pool tables to boot too.
If you're bougie then keep in mind that the bar is more akin to a dive bar so don't expect classy drinks or cocktails you'd find on an island resort.
Johnny's was the spot to shoot pool and hang out with everybody but it's changed a little bit over the last few years. Business must be good for the owner to not mind losing so many regulars. A lot of us go to twilite lounge now because of the service. It's a great bar and I love it except for the fact that management now doesn't mind if a bartender charges your card twice and adds their own tip.
Chill vibe definitely recommend
Staple of SLC! Save the South Park pinball machine! It’s my favorite and it’s been broken for so long!
Bartenders refused to serve me and kicked me out because I didn’t tip after one drink. I planned on tipping later but I had little cash on me that night and was watching closely to see how much I can spend. It’s your job to serve alcohol whether you get tipped or not. They’re not even a good vibe nor are their personalities engaging so who would want to tip anyway. Tip to not get kicked out?
The service is generally very good, can be a bit slow but it's worth the trade-off for bartenders that are fun to talk to and build a real connection with the patrons at the bar. They also have a great selection and are the only bar in town that offers my favorite amber ale. This has been my regular spot for nearly 2 years and will continue to be for a long time

Monday's at Johnny's rule! Free pool, 2.50 pints, and they have a Nintendo Switch set up to play on a projector! They also have free hot dogs when you get a drink! Cool staff, great vibes, and drink prices are the cheapest around! It may be a "dive bar" by most standards but it's a true GEM!

Something about Johnny. It's my main bar. I go for the atmosphere, 4 pools tables, drinks are decently cheap, but the music can get abonoxiously loud.

I've been coming to Johnny's for 20 years. Great establishment. Reasonably priced.

Don’t think I’ve had a worst bar experience ever. Rudest bartenders I’ve ever encountered for a dead bar.
