There is no variety on the menu. The waitress lacked charisma. She took my daughter's plate without her having finished her salad. It was a birthday dinner for my husband and I feel like it was not very special.

Beautiful location but food and service were disappointing. My steak was supposed to be medium but was so rare that the meat was totally squishy and dark red. Service was okay at times but when we were finished, we sat with empty plates in front of us for probably 25-30 minutes before we saw our waiter and it wasn't even busy.
This has always been one of our favorite restaurants because we held our wedding dinner there, but I don't envision us going back anytime soon after tonight's experience. There are much better food options with far better service in the SLC area.

Vegetarian options: Only one mediocre vegetarian dish: stir fried vegetables over udon noodles in some hot(ish) sauce. The udon noodles are also part of another dish and the sauce tasted like the Korean cauliflower appertizer. It seems very much this chef did not even try.

2.14.2025 - This is billed as the most romantic setting in Utah. I beg to differ. It is just okay, and the fact that you have to pay at a toll booth when you leave is ridiculous. The atmosphere was alright, nothing special. The tables are too close together, and you must have to slip the Maître d' a $50 to get a window with a waterfall view. The food was pretty good, not great. I had the elk and although the portions were small, at least they were expensive. The service was mediocre. I had to ask three times for more ice tea and I only received it at the end of the meal. I guess she was upset she was working on Valentine's Day.
I would recommend the Log Haven if you are in the mood to spend a lot on a decent meal.

Worst experience planning for a wedding. Dishonest. They’ll steal your money.

Log Haven is frequently listed as a top restaurant to visit for fine dining in Salt Lake City. To keep this brief, I will give the restaurant 5 stars on ambiance and that it as a great location to visit with your significant other or other party members.
The food, I'm listing at 2 stars due to cost vs. taste. We ordered the salmon, which came out luke warm. We also ordered the chicken which Looked promising but was rather bland.
Service was fine, but not as high end as i would have expected for a place that is rated #1 in trip advisor and other locations.
I'd come back with the right people cause they want the environment it creates, but that's about it.

I ordered the bison steak medium which i have done many times before and it came out very rare, I mentioned this to the waitress agreed and took it back, they cooked it longer and brought it back out and it was still very rare. They told me it was in fact medium, even when I showed a photo of the same meal cooked medium. The first photo is from tonight and the other is from a few months ago. Both cooked medium. The waitress Cynthia dismiss the comparison and said they looked the same.

This was our first experience going to Log Haven. We went for an early valentines date. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful here. The filet mignon was delicious and they had a wonderful chocolate tart for dessert. That’s the end of the compliments. The service was TERRIBLE. Our waitress never filled our drinks up unless we flagged her down. She was absent the majority of the evening. We expected better for how much we spent on our evening there. Also my husband’s bison was completely burnt. We won’t be going back.

hot honey fried quail:
Not my favorite. Some part didn't seem to be all the way cooked! All seasoning was lacking to my taste.
seared elk strip loin: My wife liked it. Me? not that much. The overall flavor profile was a bit on the sweet side, not enough contrasting flavor with the protein. Lacking seasoning again for my taste. Meat was cooked well and I liked the fun texture of the almond cake(crispy on the outside, soft inside).
Adobo grilled chicken: Good balance of flavor but very subtle. Lacks personality. I personally like more punch of flavor, more seasoning (I don't mean salt).
ricotta dolce brioche bread pudding: pleasant. The almond creme anglaise provided a nice contrast with the bread pudding.
It was a pleasant dinner on a snowy evening with a cozy atmosphere.

I had the bison and my girlfriend had the elk. Both were good, but I preferred the bison.

Bread was stale, tuna was rubbery inside and served with a tiny amount of noodles. The pineapple purée was tasteless in the desert. Food is overpriced, overrated, and tasteless. However, the atmosphere and the service is excellent.

Cozy log cabin, solid entrees, appetizers and bread service but the desserts fell way below the quality of the rest of the meal. The waffle had been cooked well before we ate it, it was dry and stale. Not everything has to be perfect, but it was baffling how they could serve up a stale waffle. We got another dessert to try something else and it was just okay too. I’d go again but skip dessert.
Overall a pretty decent meal if you want a pretty atmosphere in the canyon.

Extremely poor quality food. The Tuna Tataki and Wasabi Cured Salmon were served cold and very bitter tasting. Relying on lemon juice and salt to salvage any flavor for these dishes. For the experience they advertise so well it's entirely disappointing to be greeted with bad food and bad attitude from the staff. O out of 5 stars if I were able to.

We arrived 20 minutes early for our reservation. The host was rude, sat us aside to seat other customers and we were not offered even water while we waited. The restaurant did not fill up during our visit.
The server was very nice. We ordered the elk strip loin, bison steak au poivre and risotto milanese. The elk and bison dishes were tasty and served at appropriate temperatures. The risotto dish was bland and served luke cold.
We dine at specialty and fine dining restaurants frequently and this was disappointing.
The only positive from this visit was the ambiance and beautiful location.

KC and the management here suck. I will never come here again which sucks because I used to come here a lot. Never recommending this place to any one who wants to dine or have a wedding here. Awful. Horrible. You don't treat your guests condescendingly and rudely all night. You lost a good customer and future business!
