Good food. Poor alcohol. Went with many friends. Order potato skins, and a reuben sandwich. The skins were sliced potatoes, not the skins, but were flavorful and dressed heavily in cheese and other toppings. It served me and some friends well. Their Reuben was also quite tasty, with a hearty portion of cole slaw to go with it. Unfortunately, they are incredibly cheap on their pours. For 7 dollars i got less than an ounce of straight Jameson in a pour, and for 8 i got a similar quantity of bourbon. To fail to deliver a reasonable 2 ounce pour, and so blatantly, is a joke. For 15 dollars i got less than 1 shot of alcohol. So if you don't consume liquor you can enjoy it. They don't short change on beer. For a liquor fan tho? Steer clear or be a teetotaler for a meal.

One of my favorite places to eat. Fun Irish menu. Atmosphere and staff are great. Guinness stew and Shepherd's pie so good with a ton of food

Good food, and good selection of craft beers! I've been once in each trip to SLC and don't regret either visit!

I always find myself coming back to this place. They've become a little gimmick-y the past couple of years, but their food is amazing. Try their buffalo burger with sweet potato fries & curry dipping sauce. My partner said their lamb sandwhich was amazing. I'm not a huge beer fan, but their hard cider selection was great.

Best meal, I've had in about a year. I had a Squatters Hells Keep golden ale that went perfect with the Lamb Shank. No wonder the Irish are always happy, I'm Mexican. The broth the vegetables and of course the Lamb Shank was oh so perfect. Great meal for a piece of bread to dip into the broth, it's so delicious. I didn't ask for one because I'm on a no bread diet, broke it a little bit with the beer but it was worth it. I have to get the recipe. Service was of course excellent.

Good place for a quick bite. Few vegetarian options makes that a bummer. Nice beer selection. Place was clean and staff was friendly. Family place for sure

I see that more people have complained about the incident that I posted about. Thank you other Yelp users for your support. This facility's manager is not friendly and is actually very disrespectful. The food is mediocre but the beer is good enough.

This place is VERY POORLY MANAGED. First, they made us and 3-4 other parties wait in line to get in. Since it was St. Patty's Day, we figured it was busy inside. But NOPE! - when we were finally allowed in ~40-minutes later, there were multiple tables open! The table next to us for 5-7 people to sit at was empty for 15-minutes+ until they let in a group of 4 to sit there. The guy before us had clearly been waiting for a long time by himself holding their place, and the manager hassled him for not having his whole party there when they called his name (his kids were across the parking lot at the coffee shop it appeared). The Manager clearly treated him like crap - he barely let him in! Next up: our waiter (after getting our drink order right) took our food order for both of us. After 10 minutes, he comes back to say he forgot our order. Not part of it. ALL of it. Water = every other table was brought water, but not ours. Never even offered, so we asked, and they never ended up bringing any. Food = they never brought out my salad dressing, I asked again, they never brought it out. Never got it. My boyfriend asked for some extra BBQ sauce for his entree - they brought it, but then we found out when the bill arrived that they charged $1.00 for BBQ sauce!! The table next to us was clearly distraught as well. The man seated with two ladies moved the table himself away from the walkway because so many servers were bunking into them while walking by. For St. Patty's Day, they could have KILLED IT - literally we went here because it was the only Irish pub in the area = give us good service and we're happy. BUT this sucked. I used to like the food here, but with bad service, the food seemed noticeably bad.

Dined 3/16/18 Four of us for dinner. I ordered the corned beef au gratin pie. Brought it out a few minutes after the other three entrees...mine was cold. Cheese had fused into a solid mass. Terrible meal, sketchy service. Disappointing. Wife's shepherd's pie was made with frozen vegetables & very little beef. Staff was friendly and they have an extensive bar menu if you're just going there for drinks.

On the one weekend you would want to go to maccools they disappointed at EVERYTHING. The service sucked. We were seated in about 5min. but then ignored for 20m. When we finally chased down a waiter we got served and for that alone I tipped 20+ percent. The food we were brought was awful. I ordered the fish and chips and the "chips" were a bunch of burnt on the outside, soggy in the middle potato catastrophe. Even at this point I was prepared to forgive but when I told the manager his response was "It's St. Patrick's weekend, what do you F___ing expect"? Answer: I expect more! I won't be going to MacCools again soon. Disappointing as I know they use to do better.

Took my Mom to lunch at MacCools today. Service was the worst possible and food average. We will not return!

I was disappointed in the dish i ordered. There was ..maybe 1/3 of a cup of chicken pot pie under a pastry that was bigger than the plate. I asked for more of the curry fry dip to go with the leftover fries and what they sent me home with was MUSTARD.....beware.

Great service, husband got perogies and salad, very good. Perogies had a nice sheen. Got burger and fries, sadly the toasted bun was burned and fries cold. The fact that a burned bun was served, minor easy detail, ruined the flavor of meal. Burger great no bun. Inconsistent cooking.

Tonight my daughter, husband and I were taking our great grandson to Hogle Zoo for the Zoo Lights show. We decided to try your restaurant for dinner before the Zoo. Much to our surprise we were happy to enjoy a great meal. I had the Irish Stew which I thought was one of the best stews I have had in a very long time. My daughter decided to try the pierogi appetizer (as we are of polish decent) she wanted to see if it was as good as ours. Much to our surprise it was wonderful . We will definitely be back to try the other specialties!
