First time in SLC, and we were looking for seafood. A couple of people recommended this spot. The restaurant is large, with an open kitchen and a mix of booth, table, and counter seating. When we first walked in, there was a strong fish odor — yes, it’s a seafood restaurant, but it was stronger than I usually encounter. We were greeted by a very friendly host and seated right away. We had reservations, but they didn’t seem necessary, as the place was quiet with only a few other tables.

We started with waters, a bottle of white wine, and an appetizer of calamari. The portion was generous, with a nice mix of rings and baby squid, and the marinara sauce was tasty.

For entrées, we ordered the Salmon, Trout, Caesar Salad, and the Wild Mushroom Halibut (a special). While we waited, they brought out bread and butter. Each entrée came with a choice of salad or clam chowder. The salads were standard, but the chowder was very good — lots of clams, thick, and flavorful. The portion was quite large, so I didn’t finish it in order to save room for my meal.

The entrées arrived hot and in good portions. The Halibut was good, though not outstanding; the mushroom ragout was a bit bland and slightly too salty, while the polenta was decent. The other dishes were fine, but none of the guests were especially enthusiastic.

We saved room for dessert and shared the Raspberry Almond Torte, Midnight Chocolate Cake, and Sabayon. All three were very good — an excellent finish to the meal.

Service throughout the evening was very good: attentive without being overbearing. We lingered until after closing (they closed at 9:00, and we finished around 9:20), and the staff was patient as they cleaned up around us.

Overall, it was a good meal with solid service, but it didn’t make our “can’t wait to come back” list.

Authentic atmosphere; very friendly. A big observation we made was the wide age range of their employees. I feel this added a warmth and delightful atmosphere to the establishment. Our waiter was ‘GUS’. By far the nicest person we met on this six day trip in Salt Lake City. An older gentleman but could outwork any 30 year old.
Every employee I saw was hustling around with a purpose and they seemed to be happy to be working in this restaurant.
Kudos to the owners, you definitely are doing something right.

I ordered the New York steak and it was grisly and way too salty. I realize it is mainly a seafood restaurant but I can't eat most seafood due to allergies. The steak was not good.

The crab sandwich was one of the worst ever anywhere. Week of flavor. Bread was not toasted as it should of been. Just not good. My crab cakes were to spicy to get full flavor of the crab. The fries should of been unique at a high end restaurant my wife enjoyed her Cobb seafood salad. Let's say for the price of our meal we will not be coming back.
