It is a dive bar, but the new staff is pretty good.

Wow. There's charming divey, and then there's gross divey. This is gross divey. You'll be counting the seconds waiting for your olfactory fatigue to set in. And the bar staff seemed almost upset for having to be assed to pour a beer for their one patron.

Review 1 of Dive Bar night: I'm only giving Mixed Emotions 2 stars, 1 star for the very attentive bar tender and 1 star for the nostalgia. I miss the guy who used to work there with his dog. I don't know if it even counts as a dive bar, it needs some serious work. But I was glad it was still open....

Nice & Cozy Drinkin' Spot just a hop, skip & a jump away from trax. Check it out and dont pay any mind to the bad reviews about it being dirty or ancient... If you want the gentlemens club then go to the gentlemens club!

Love Leo the owner, a Golf Legend back in the day. He would whoop about anyone in a skins game. He's still a fun conversation and could beat me today in golf. The old club is beat up, he originally opened it back in the 80s as a strip club, and not to long ago had a great kitchen and was a fantastic pub. Today is a wonderful hole in the wall neighborhood dive bar, cheap drinks, pool tables, lots of lounge space and other games to play. Live music or DJs every now and then. It a place to be social and meet someone new and best to come in a group and lounge and enjoy the many game options with drinks as you laugh with friends. With some TLC it could really make a come back to greatness. He has plans in place to expand and build a side patio and renovate, a final move for the business before he officially retires. He recently update his chip card machine and now takes all credit card types. Needing to change to today's payment customer needs! He can even do apple and android pay if needed to but the 70 yr old golfer would likely ask if you have cash if you want to pay with your phone!

My review of the place would not be accurate or honest. Read other reviews and it must have been a while since they have been there. Total dive bar. When I have participated in the place, No one is there including the bartender. He's usually out to lunch. Kitchen used to be operable when it was Indigo. Now it's dusty and dirty like everything else there. The people that do show are friendly enough, drinks are cheap but if a person wants a shot of their choice either they don't have it or it doesn't pour. OK! Think I'll pass

I'm not sure how to feel about this place... I thought it might have been a gay bar given the name (apparently that is a common thing from what I've read here on Yelp and the bartender asked us if we thought it was going to be a gay bar as soon as we walked in.) It's pretty divey, which I'm okay with, but I got a weird vibe from the bartender. He just seemed... off. I don't know. He kept trying to get me to buy an AMF. AMF's are for those 21 year old kids that don't know what else to order. Even though I declined, twice, he still asked me an additional time. There were some "homies" in the bar that night and he kept telling us that we had nothing to worry about - a bad thought didn't even cross my mind until he said something. We left after about an hour.

I have driven by this place thousands of times and finally said I will swing in and check it out. Just a standard dive bar with lots of room to move around. A few pool table, darts and arcade games for entertainment. The prices on drinks are pretty average but they don't have a huge selection to choose from as far as liquor. I am sure I will come back again for a quick drink.

I was honestly convinced this place was going to be a gay bar. I mean with a name like "Mixed Emotions" one can only assume...Shame on me! The vibe is actually a lot closer to Country Western than anything else. Strong and cheap drinks. Place is divier than all get-out, there aren't really windows anywhere. My friend and I went on a weekend night and it was completely empty. Fun bar games like Pool and Darts. Bartender was very friendly. I'll come back...when my emotional state is ready for quick mixin'

If you've driven down State Street, you've probably seen Mixed Emotions. It's that non-descript building that looks kind of like it's filled with sadness. I passed it many a time before going in for the first time yesterday. See, my band had a show there. Our bass player occasionally books things there and threw us on as a last minute replacement. My first impression upon walking in (after the glee of realizing that they had their own parking lot, which makes loading in way easier) was that it was way bigger than I thought it would be, and definitely of another era. I don't think they've updated the furniture or decor much since the 70s. Not that there's anything wrong with that. The bartender is a weird guy. Definitely nice, but I'm not sure he's the best at his job. My fiance got a drink, paid with a credit card, asked the guy to close it out, but he was super slow to give him his card back. I went away, set up my drums, came back (this took about 15 minutes) and my fiance was still waiting for his credit card. And the place was pretty dead. Drinks are cheap compared to other nearby places. I paid $3.75 for some Bulleit Bourbon. However, their beer selection is pretty sad. They have pool, darts, as well as pinball and Area 51. I didn't get to play any of it because I was, you know, providing entertainment, but it's all good. We brought our own PA to do the show. There's a small elevated stage, big enough to put a drum set on, so I was there and the rest of the band was on the floor. There were lots of chairs so everyone was sitting; not typical for a bar rock show. Overall, we had a good time. We played well, there was a good crowd, I'd do it again. It's just that there's kind of a weird vibe in here; the vague scent of sadness never really goes away. I'm not sure what it is. I guess the name is appropriate.
