The Omakase Taco Tasting is a MUST!!!! But if you don't want this, everything on the menu is amazing!!! The lamb chops are my personal favorite!
Tristin was AWESOME!!!! She took great care of us and made sure we had our food order in before two great big orders. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. we really appreciated her
I ordered the Birria Tacos and the Horchata drink all I can say is I 100% recommend it the tacos very flavorful the meat was perfect soft and not dry the horchata was perfect and it was my first time going to Monarca the service was great, try it out you won't regret it
Great food and service. They were a bit slammed so refills on water could have been better. Server was phenomenal
Perhaps there was a change is ownership? In any case, not nearly as enjoyable or as authentic as previous visits. Unlikely to return.
Amazing service! And we are loving the new menu! We ordered dinner and dessert and were not disappointed. We also loved the friendliness of the staff and the owners
I love the food, and the drinks just wish for the value to better, just felt there could've been more for less or at least more food for the value..
Food was outstanding, all very beautifully plated and served. The service was some of the best I've had. The bill was higher than I expected, but felt appropriate for the service and quality.
My favorite Mexican restaurant in SLC! The food is always fantastic. The chef has curated a fabulous menu which is authentic yet innovative. All the staff are so friendly and attentive as well.
We did not enjoy the food whatsoever. We ceasar salad was mainly just oil. The tacos had very little flavor. Overall, very disappointing meal.

Overpriced and try hard. This place has incredibly small portions. The sopesitos claim to be shareable however it's literally 3 quarter size tortillas with undercooked chorizo on them for $19!!! Ordered 2 queso fundidos to share for a table of 8 they brought out two tortillas to eat for the whole table had to ask multiple times for more. Our food was mediocre at best. Won't be going back.
We've been coming regularly for at least 4 years every time we visit SLC. We especially liked the Birria Tacos, and Taco Tuesday. We visited Tuesday this week and very disappointed. Both our boys had a Corona and they were flat & tasted odd. The tacos were even more disappointing, nothing like previously or as shown on the menu. One had virtually no beef meat at all, the others very little, half a taco shell at best. Could have eaten better and much cheaper at a Mexican food truck.
Made a last minute reservation and hosts were great to get us in earlier. Waitress was lovely and attentive. Guacamole, fish and birra tacos were great. Bar service got slow once the restaurant filled up. Pork chop lacked a lot of flavor. I would try it again.
They changed their menu a few weeks ago, and unfortunately the quality is not there anymore. It's sad because I used to love their big bowl of guacamole with the homemade purple chips. It was our date night and where my birthday dinner happened. I am bummed
Monarca is a family run restaurant. It features authentic Mexico City cuisine. We shared some of their small plates. Everything was delicious. The mole was one of the best we have tasted. There is a wide variety of entrees. The tacos were delicious. We will return again and look forward to trying more of their amazing dishes.
