Well we had a reservation for two people, and there was no table when we arrived and we could only sit at the bar which seemed to defeat the point of making a reservation. The bar turned out to be much quieter than the rest of the restaurant so that actually worked out in the end, but there was not even an apology for not having a table for when we had a reservation. The food was excellent and so were the cocktails. The bartender kept asking if we wanted to close out our bill which is the exact opposite of what a server would do at a table. I'm not sure what that was all about. Overall it seemed like a good place for Salt Lake City.

Stopped in for dinner for the first time based on glowing reviews. Our server, Bryan, was very attentive, however, the food was below average. We had a salad with fig sauce and sesame dressing, the halibut prepared with zucchini blossom cream sauce and poblano peppers, and the Mar y Tierra tacos. I recognize that busy kitchens need to prepare much in advance, but nothing we ate felt chef-prepared as the restaurant would like you to believe. The mixed greens on our salad were straight from a food service bag, with a quick drizzle of overly-sweet fig sauce. My halibut was overcooked and dry - I couldn’t even slide a fork through it. The sauce seemed prepared potentially a day in advance and warmed up. My husband’s tacos also had overcooked steak that wasn’t flavorful and was about what you’d get at Chipotle in terms of being prepared and warmed for too long. Overall, felt the experience was quite disappointing besides the good server.

I celebrated my birthday here and as usual, the food was excellent. If you like Mexican with a more upscale preparation, this is your place. Claudia and Alfonso (the owners) have created something special.

Public shout out to Bryan, who was an excellent server. Chips and salsa were served promptly, followed by perfectly timed appetizers that we were able to enjoy before the entrees came out (my recent experience in many restaurants is that they bring the appetizers out late, so you barely have a chance to start eating them before the entrees are served).

Entrees came out perfectly temped and while we were done in about 45 minutes, we never felt rushed.

We dined as a party of 10. Only one server was assigned to our group. A number of our dishes were over-cooked (Carne, halibut, lamb). My dish arrived 5 minutes after everyone else's and was a small portion. In all, quality of dishes were not worthy of their cost.

If you are looking for an authentic Mexican culinary experience but with a gourmet touch, you cannot miss this restaurant. The food is delicious, prepared with fresh and high-quality ingredients, which gives it a unique and refined flavor without losing the essence of true Mexican cuisine. The dishes are traditional but presented in a sophisticated way, making each bite a pleasure for the senses.

Best of all is the atmosphere: the place is elegant and welcoming, with an attention to detail that makes each visit special. Alfonso and Claudia, the owners, are wonderful people who really care about their customers. Their dedication and passion for what they do is evident, always willing to make sure everyone is well taken care of and satisfied. Also, the prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food and the atmosphere.

In short, it is a place where Mexican food is elevated to a gourmet level without losing its authenticity, and the service is top-notch. Definitely a gem worth discovering!

Made reservations for a party of 8 and we were seated right on time. Ordered Queso with Chorizo and Guacamole with chips for appetizers. The Queso with Chorizo was fantastic! Our group ordered a variety of entrees and each one of them were very flavorful. My only negative was the servicing size of anything that included seafood. Two people ordered halibut and if I were to estimate it was about a 3 oz piece (roughly 1" wide x 4-1/2" long x 1-1/4" thick) and I ordered salmon which was also very small but a little larger serving than the halibut. I would say probably 4 to 4-1/2 oz piece. Everything else served seemed to have nice portion sizes so if you want to walk away satisfied I would recommend ordering something other than the seafood dishes. Other than the dissatisfaction with the serving size of some of the plates, the food was fantastic. The restaurant is small but very nice. Our server was incredibly friendly and great to explain each dish he was asked about. Overall I enjoyed my experience, I just left a little hungry still.

Too expensive. Too small. The food was just OK for the prices. The restaurant’s mood and environment did not feel like the prices they charged. Felt like in a good mom and pops Mexican cheap restaurant. Excepting that the experience did not even feel close! Meh!
