Eight service members stood around while one man brought out food out at one dish at a time. 3 of five meals came out and then we waited for 15 minutes before the last two were served. They messed up the order and then took 20 minutes to get one lemonade. Not impressed.

This place is utterly incredible! Food and signature house margaritas were top notch. The waitstaff (Stephanie) was absolutely amazing! Extremely knowledgeable about the menu and cocktail recommendations. Having the new pastry chef come table side and explain the delicious dessert menu was a nice touch. Overall definitely worth the price. Will definitely recommend this place and looking forward to eating there again.

The food and cocktails were delicious. We celebrated my boyfriend's birthday and had the best time! Our server was great, and the vibes were high. Our favorites were the carne asada (my boyfriend said it's his favorite steak in the city), the sweet potato tacos, the mezcal old fashioned, and the Oaxaca cocktail with mezcal and passionfruit. Delicious! Can't wait to go back.

We walked by at night and noticed how lively and vibrant the restaurant was so we promptly made reservations the next day for lunch (we'd already eaten dinner or we would have tried to get in that night). We are so glad we did! The food was absolutely excellent and the service top notch. We loved the ceviche. The only time we had ceviche that tasted this good was when we were in Mexico on the beach.

A friend recommended that we go to Monarca and I am so glad we heeded his advice. The food was absolutely creative, delicious, and well presented. I wish I lived here because I would go for sure on a weekly basis. We had the guacamole, chips and salsa, Elote dip and queso for our starters. Wonderful flavors and beautifully presented. Everyone in my party thoroughly enjoyed their entrées. Josh, our server, was so kind, professional, and met our every need. I can't wait to go back. Good work Monarca team!

Get the Birria tacos or Quesadillas. Absolutely delicious! Joshua was our server. Professional, knowledgeable, punctual, and personable. A "must go" restaurant in SLC.

We had a Sat. 6:30pm reservation for 4. Restaurant was busy, crowded, and loud (difficult to hear conversation at our own table). By 8pm there were several open tables and it was much quieter. Food portions (except for chips and salsa) were generous. Drinks were unique and tasty but a bit higher priced that expected. Ceviche and shrimp were fresh and tasty. Shrimp tacos and Suizas enchiladas also good. Shared appetizer + meal = too full for dessert. The (Spanish?) rice was the best tasting I've ever had at a restaurant. Would recommend and visit again during quieter time.
