Great non-dairy options. We stop anytime we're in SL
I love everything they have here, including the crazy seasonal flavors like eggnog. Updated from previous review on 2026-01-15
Vegan always gets 5 stars from me. The ice-cream is good 👍looks like there are some good hot drinks also but I'll try one of those next time.
We really wanted to try this place. We were driving from Ogden to Draper and decided to stop for a treat. We arrived and got in line at 9:35p. We got to the front of the line at 10:03p. There was one other customer left behind us. The employee came out, pulled all the signs and informed us at that time that they were closed at 10p and they would not be serving us. Disappointed to drive that far, wait that long with little to no parking at the time, and then be turned away.
So happy to see more options created for vegan ice cream. All said, I prefer traditional ice cream, but when it makes you legitimately sick afterwards, you gotta find other options. These were the most creative flavors I've been able to have in years, very refreshing. I don't know what the base is, but I didn't pick up any coconut or the standard undertones in flavor.
The two I got (lavender honeycomb and a peach one) were very rich and flavorful.
Suggestions: samples, real sprinkles not the balls, and if at all possible some inside seating given its winter
I threw my ice cream out. Didn't taste good at all, samples arent allowed and you can't sit inside. Will not be back.
Need to make it more obvious that the ice cream is dairy free
Can't get enough of it.
We ordered for the 1st time for Thanksgiving. We ordered the pumpkin ice cream pie, with gluten free crust. I wish I could give more than 5 stars, this pie was absolutely amazing!! The flavor was perfect, I have only been gluten free for a few months, but always had an issue with dairy. This was a perfect treat and I didn't feel left out on Thanksgiving!! Highly recommend!

Delicious ice cream
Ice cream is my favorite treat, BUT I am lactose intolerant!! :( So when I randomly came across Monkeywrench, I was so excited. All the flavors on the menu sounded so amazing that I immediately got decision paralysis lol! I'm not used to having so many choices for dairy free! The cashier was super sweet and patiently took the time with me to help me narrow down which flavors I wanted to pick. The three I ended up choosing were the lavender honey one (INCREDIBLE and full of flavor), the strawberry shortcake one (so sweet but not too sweet!), and the banana stand one (so much dimension!). I'm so happy with my choices! The ice cream went even above my expectations!! It was so creamy and rich, you would never guess it wasn't real cream. My only grievance with this place is that they are in SLC and I live in Orem - but that's probably a good thing for my wallet after all, lol. I will 1000% be visiting Monkeywrench every time I'm in SLC!!!
Great cookies and cream milkshake! Thick and rich in flavor
Staff were really friendly but Tastes nothing like the flavor and straight salt! Worst ice cream I ever tried
My family loved the place and ice cream, but it was to sweet to me (blueberry and banana/brownie) and I think they use alternatives to sugar which gives the ice cream a bit weird taste. My mouth felt funny afterwards. Not my cup of tea, but I am giving 5 stars on behalf of my family.
