Great service and great food. This is my go-to for Chinese takeout, I live right down the street and go pretty often and I’m yet to have a bad experience. I usually get the pot stickers, fried rice/lo Mein.

We were really hoping this would be our next go-to for chinese food. But we were really disappointed with the food. We ordered Sesame Chicken, General Tso, Potstickers, and extra wonton chips. Only the white rice, wonton chips, and fortune cookie were any good. And I fee like I shouldn’t have to compliment a flavorless white rice and a prepackaged cookie. The potsticker sauce was incredibly salty. And the chicken entres tasted way too strongly of vegetable or canola oil. I was hoping for leftovers, but unfortunately we’ll be throwing away the rest of this $42 meal. It seemed like a decent location inside and the employees were plenty kind. The food just needs some changes.

I grew up going here, and it's changed a lot over the years. This latest iteration is terrific though. The new owner (or chef) has a lighter touch that makes the food seem more fresh and light, and the value can't be beat. The $9.25 lunch special gets you a soup, entree, side, and app. Very filling and all delicious. Definitely adding this one into my regular rotation.
I ate 1 bite of the general tso chicken and threw the rest in the garbage. What a waste of money. The new owners need to figure out some better tasting dishes. It was soggy and the chicken was fatty with too oversized pieces. I like the way the previous owners chicken tasted crispy and thinner with better sauce. The food didn't smell good after sitting in my vehicle I had to air it out. I'm really disappointed with the quality of the new recipe. I wouldn't recommend coming here if you have in the past its gone downhill. Very sad because this used to be one of my favorite places.
Use to be my wife and my favorite chinese food by far. They recently changed everything for the worse. Quality went way down. Now mediocre chinese food
Got the beef Brocoli, beef was overcooked very chewy very few pieces of beef itself Brocoli was undercooked. House fried rice was a joke hardly any meat and flavorless. Will not be returning
RIP to the old Pan Wok. It used to be the best around. Now with the new ownership, it simply just sucks. Food is not good. I will miss what Pan Wok used to be.
So sad to see everything here change. It is now just a run of the meal Chinese place. New portions, new products and nothing tastes the same. Pon Pon chicken was a treat to get everytime but texture and receipe are completly off. Very disappointed my days of eating here will probably come to an end. :(
Ownership changed. Very disappointed. Food is just not as good. Portions are smaller but same price. No more fountain drinks. Recipes changed. It was our go-to Chinese restaurant and now we will need to find a new one. Sad day.
Restaurantji Recommends
I’ve been coming to pan wok for over 13 years. It’s my favorite and I recommend to everyone. Sadly ot was apparent the very moment I opened my take out last night that they had new ownership. I won’t even bother trying to compare the new food to the old, if you’re a fan of the old cuisine you know there’s no comparison. On the plus side I was notified by my brother that is friends with the old owners daughter that they’ve opened up a restaurant down town called RED LOTUS. I will be checking it out, I do not know if they will have the same menu items but I do know it will be amazing regardless.
They changed their food and it’s not good anymore. :(
One of the worst food things has happened. Pan Wok has changed their food. I don’t know if there is new ownership or what but we got general Taos from Pan Wok today and it’s completely different. It’s not good, it’s bad. The sauce, breading, and chicken is different. Pan Wok’s General Taos chicken was my favorite American Chinese food in Salt Lake City. It was soo good! Now it’s horrible. It seems like frozen chicken. The sauce tastes like cornstarch, empty of its former delicious. The cream cheese wonton’s are different as well. They aren’t horrible, but not as good.
If I could give -100 stars I would. Salt Lake City lacks American Chinese food with flavor so this is a huge blow, to me. I’m so sad. I’m crying.
This used to be my go to place for Chinese, it seems like they have new ownership and it’s not the same place I have loved for years. The quality of food has gone down and is not the same place anymore.
Wanted to give this place a try. Sad to say I will not be back. Panda Express would have been way better choice.
We had orange chicken and cream cheese won tons.
Won tons were nothing special, but not terrible.
The orange chicken... Omg... I can best describe the chicken as cheap frozen dinosaur chicken nuggets consistency with orange sauce.
