Great BBQ. One of SLC's finest.
We tried the brisket, chicken, pulled pork & meatloaf. We liked everything but the meatloaf..
Sides- fries were cripsy and well seasoned. mashed potatoes with gravy & the mac-n-cheese taste like nothing
What a wonderful place. Must of drove past this area a million times and never noticed it. We got in and was served immediately. Seated in one of the many rooms they have.the atmosphere was amazing, unique and very inviting . We decided to eat out side to enjoy the early summer day, glad we did. We got out food promptly and the service was amazing. We did notice they had a stage for live music, so we must go back for that. The air, was totally smokey smelling, like I was in my own backyard smoking meat. The food was amazing. A must try if you like bbq.
Solid BBQ. Ethan was kind and helped us order.
I had the pulled pork Philly with onion rings and my partner had the two meat combo with chicken and brisket and Cole slaw. Everything was good except the Cole slaw. We both thought the flavor of the Cole slaw was nasty. They seated us in a room where a band was playing. We liked the songs they were playing but they were so loud that it was impossible to have a conversation. When I came here many years ago they offered the option of eating in rooms with or without live music and I think they should bring that back. They have also stopped serving potato salad. Concerning the bbq sauce, it was a bit too sweet for me but I know some people like it that way.
My meat was just a little chewy but really tasty.
Ok. The atmosphere was great. Super clean and cool dining room. Service was ok. Not great but not horrible either. Ordered an appetizer that did not come out before our food. The main course was warm but not hot. Fries were good, Mac and cheese was ok, ribs slightly dry, bbq sauces were delicious, and yes good cold beer. Not a no go but think it missed the mark. Hope it's on point next time.
Pat’s BBQ in Salt Lake City is easily one of the best barbecue spots I’ve been to. The brisket was amazing—tender, smoky, and packed with flavor. Honestly, five out of five stars just for that alone. It was cooked perfectly and had that classic bark on the outside with juicy, melt-in-your-mouth meat inside.
The burnt ends were my absolute favorite. They had that perfect combination of crispy edges and tender, flavorful center. I could eat a whole tray of those by themselves.
And the cornbread—so good. It was moist, just the right amount of sweet, and worked perfectly with the rest of the meal. Sometimes cornbread is dry or bland, but not here. This one stood out and added to the whole plate.
Everything we ordered was amazing. From the meats to the sides, it was clear that this place takes their barbecue seriously. The service was friendly and the vibe was relaxed. I’ll definitely be coming back. If you’re in Salt Lake and love barbecue, Pat’s BBQ is a must-try.

For starters, the food was good. The brisket had a lovely fat cap on it although the meat was a little dry, and the pulled pork, while also dryer than I'm used to, seemed to have a very little fat in it which I appreciated. The problem was the chicken quarters. The meat was amazing! But I ordered two leg quarters which should consist of a leg and a thigh, two of them. The staff speaks negligible English, except the gentleman who took my order, and apparently he and they don't understand each other either because he made a point of telling them that I wanted two quarters, and what I got was one quarter cut in two. So $13.00 for a chicken quarter, but my bad for not checking the order before I walked out. They do box everything up with cornbread (which is dryer and not sweet, and I'm assuming is a regional thing), and butter and honey. I did get extra cornbread in place of my other chicken quarter, but not the same. The barbecue sauce had a very strong molasses flavor and was very sweet, and the pulled pork was tasty without it. I think by the time I got there (13:30 or so), there was parking on the street in front of the place, but there is a 'no parking - loading zone' sign as well, and rather than risk it, there is a huge lot just down the block for restaurant parking so I just parked and walked. My only suggestion is that the restaurant staff could use a translator.

I was pretty excited to go there for my Bday but ended up being a bit disapointed. The food was ok but didn't taste super fresh and the service was not great. And it was very pricey for the portion size.

Customer Service was great..The Ladies are kind and attentive. I had the leg/thigh, greens jambalaya, corn bread, sweet potato pie and also tried the meatloaf. Everything was delicious. Meatloaf needs a bit more seasoning to make it really pop. The gravy used on top is what makes it good.
Yummy stuff ?
The food was excellent. The servers were responsive. The atmosphere is exactly what you would hope for from a BBQ joint, up to and including the location that feels like it is in an alley in a commercial zone. I will definitely go back.
