Great bar! Took my husband out for his 30th and we had some drinks while waiting for our reservation at Takashi. We both love the sparkling sake draft, and I tried their kurosawa nigori which was such a nice unfiltered sake. Very smooth and sweet. Squirreled Away had a nice mandarin flavor to it. We also decided to try a couple plates. The taro scotch egg was so good and the sauce was like this really nice chili crisp with a husky flavor that complemented it well. The birria dumplings had an incredible consomé that tasted better than when I've gotten birria other places. Very nice drinks, nice food, great vibes.

We stopped into post office place to have drinks while waiting for a table at takashi. The service was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was very bright, artsy and airy. The drinks were great, try to sparkling sake on tap! Amazing!

Great atmosphere, music, drinks. The food is hit or miss. I ordered twice in a row grilled octopus and it was way too chewy. Please do something with that! I know it can and should be much softer !

Bartenders are knowledgeable and very cool if I may say so myself. Spirit selection tip top and the food smelled so good I’m coming back to try it. The drinks were unique but also comforting and fusion all rolled into one.

This place has a fun vibe! We stopped by for a drink and some small plates before our reservation at Takashi next door. The Taro Scotch egg was definitely the standout for us, it has a crispy crust with a layer of smashed taro, and a soft boiled egg inside.

Regulars who come all the time. Given a gratuity for the table and told they can't split checks for the first time. We always tip more than 20%.Didn't even need to look at the menu to order well over 300 worth.Used to be our favorite bar, but kind of some audacity to not even allow us to split checks.Guess we'll need to find another go-to bar.

So you're having a rough few weeks and you just want, but can't allow yourself to hope for, a dining experience that will offer both the excitement of novelty, and the comfort of the familiar. Friends and countrypeople, we found this at Post Office Place.Ambience is understated, chic, and easy to take in: Dim lighting and the gentle pop of swanky fixtures and great backlit art. Though a very intimate space, bar service and high tops were readily available, along with few delightful booths that could sit two spaciously, or a cozy three to four.Service was perfect. Friendly and attentive, but cool and noninvasive.Any manner of fine beverage could be yours at Post Office Place. We tried their passionfruity spin on a Pisco sour, a fine cab selection, and a most satisfying highball (local joint Bar Nohm is also doing fine things with their highball, FYI). Oh, and a ritzy pour of fine, fine Japanese whiskey, of which they have a generous selection. Boozehounds will purr.As for grub, the katsu sliders were delicious and will likely please most palates. But where they got super shiny was the beef tartare, the birria dumplings, and the grilled romaine salad. As a tartare aficionado, I thought I'd exhausted all permutations, but damnit Janet, African pumpkin sauce, with Nigerian rice masa cakes, and the most succulent beef, seasoned perfectly? I have been thinking about it all day: What's going on there? I can't wait to try it again. We did not try anything from the raw bar, which was probably a mistake, but we'll be back soon. I'm going to force myself to wait a week so I don't wear it out. But you, friend. You get after it.

Have been here multiple times a year since they opened. Great cocktails, great place to hang out if you're waiting for a table at Takashi, and probably our favorite burger/slider of all time. Unfortunately during our most recent visit, the host gave us a hard time because I provided a federally-issued DOD/military ID. I have used it at Post Office Place before and multiple bars in Salt Lake City without issue (whenever I forget my driver's license). The host asked me if I was in the military (I'm not, I'm a military spouse) and had to check with the manager. When the manager said they do accept military IDs, she responded with "but she's a dependent" as if for some reason that made my ID invalid??? We really loved this place and were happy to see one of our frequent spots get a James Beard nomination but the host's attitude and lack of knowledge really ruined it for us. :(

My wife and I have been to the Post Office. The place has a great variety of cocktails, beer, and wine. The appetizers are great as well, we recommend the sliders and/or arancini. Matthew, our server, was friendly and patience to answer all the questions we had about the menu! We definitely recommend this place. ?

This is my favorite bar in salt lake. All their drinks are amazing and thoughtful. The mixologist can always come up with interesting drinks that you’ve never had before. On top of that, the food there is delicious! We had the tamale and the mole sauce was so good. I also loved the Brussel sprouts and I always get their tuna tartare. The pavlova was fantastically delicious with an amazing black sesame mouse. This place is a must try.

This is fast becoming one of my go to places when in Salt Lake on business (about twice a month). Owned by the same folks who have Takashi Sushi next door, it is a comfortable and eclectic bar with a terrific cocktail and Japanese whiskey selection, very good food, and lovely, cheerful staff. Their ceviche selection is top notch - I recommend the Thai version with tuna, though the whitefish is excellent as well. Fresh, flavorful, nice acid balance - all very good. The tamale is also good as is the beef slider. And the grilled Romaine salad is my favorite salad so far in Salt Lake, matching the simple arugula salad at Steta Bella Pizza. The wine selection is solid, if not large - but there is always something other than the standard three open bar quality wines you find at most of the downtown restaurants. And did I mention the Japanese whisky? A lovely way to end a meal. So, a lot of folks in the restaurant are having a drink before heading over to Takashi. I urge everyone to have dinner here just as often. Usually no wait. The quality is excellent. And the people are lovely.
