My wife and I have been excited to try this place! The environment and decor is great. The service was awesome. The food was really good. We would definitely come back. We went right after it opened and they didn't have their liquor license yet which they said they should have soon. We got the smoked trout dip (4/5) the chips were especially good. The risotto (1.5/5) was our least favorite. It was a little crunchy and the green apples in it didn't really compliment the dish. The braised beef and hummus was INCREDIBLE (6/5). So so tasty and tender. The pomegranate molasses was such a nice touch and the flat bread was awesome. Speaking of which the bread they bring out at the beginning also INCREDIBLE (6/5). We also got the smoked pastrami and charred cabbage (4/5). It was a yummy dish. I don't think I'd get it again. Surprisingly the charred cabbage was the star of the show, not the pastrami but it was still an enjoyable dish to try. We will definitely be back to Roux!

We just went here for brunch the other day. Had been looking at the dinner menu on line and thought let's try the brunch. First impression was the brunch menu was on the thin side, but the lineup covered the bases. We all ordered something different, even the special of the morning, a steak burrito. Food was great! We are already looking forward to trying that dinner now.

Came in with high expectations and they were met! We ordered the brussel sprouts which were packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. Tender insides with crispy outer leaves. The grilled carrots were good, but could've used a bit more seasoning on the carrots themselves. They were solely grilled too which didn't result in a completely tender carrot. Tortillas with the lamb shank Birria were nice and thick and flavorful. The Birria itself was flavorful and the lamb tender. Hominy was a nice touch. Crusted pork loin was perfectly cooked with a nice outer crust, and the rendered fat made for a nice rich bite. Sauce and potatoes again could've used a little more salt, but that could just be me. The basque cheesecake was INCREDIBLE, don't skip it. Our server Ryan was visibly busy but still made time to tell us about their special events and made us feel welcome back. Overall a great experience, this is our new go-to date night spot!!Side note- we had an earlier reservation so we got our table immediately, but there were two large parties that seemed to be keeping others from getting their tables on time. It's a popular spot, so grab a reservation and show up early!Our bill for two was $130ish before tip for drinks, apps, and entrees for two with a single dessert. Quite fair for the quality if you ask me.

Just had an amazing meal at Roux. The food was delicious and so fresh. The service was amazing and top notch. The restaurant is beautiful and so relaxing. It seems like a place that would work perfectly for a fancy night out or meeting friends for dinner. Definitely a place to go in SLC.

The restaurant is clean and warmly lit with comfortable seating, if a little tight due to the location limitations. Waitstaff was polite and knowledgeable. The food was adventurous while sticking to the principles of good food. The appetizers were fine, but in hindsight a little underwhelming once we got to the pasta and main courses. We were particularly impressed by the enchilada gnocchi, which sounded good and tasted even better. The pork chops had a perfect doneness, something we seldom find when eating out even at pretty high end restaurants. The flavors were excellent.

My partner & I visited Roux for a special occasion, and it's a great setting for that. Comfy & attractive interior, solid menu with options for most diets. My partner has celiac and we were pleased to learn many of the dishes are or can be made gluten free, even the funeral potato pave with veloute which usually has traditional flour! They do have a shared fryer though. I had the miso maple black cod- very good, but the scant mushrooms were sandwiched between the fish & mashed sweet potatoes so they got lost. My partner had the pastrami & cabbage which they enjoyed but said it was surprisingly spicy / overly-peppery. The bar menu was VERY limited, likely since they just opened. I like most beer but the only 3 options were really bold flavored ones, so I passed. Service was great: approachable & friendly.

Cute place, and the staff was friendly. Portion size was a quite small for the price. Taste was average. Poached eggs on the eggs benedict came out overcooked the first time instead of runny.

A great new addition in SLC. We went for brunch and had their "Roux Breakfast ". Eggs were perfect, both the sausage links and thick peppery bacon were very good, and the biscuits were a highlight (flaky deliciousness). The only coffee choice (French press) was very good, but a bit pricey at $12 for 1 cup each! Hopefully their expresso machine arrives soon. We'll be back.

Iv been here a few times now and have worked my way through the menu. All I have to say is everything is amazing, from execution to flavor profiles to the vibe this restaurant has it all. Definitely a cute little spot. You need to check out for yourself I promise you won't regret it! (;

We had the Lamb Shank Birria and the fennel sausage pasta. Both were very original in execution in the sense that the flavors are not bland nor pedestrian. The Lamb Shank Birria was high quality meat (not too fatty for a lamb dish) and wonderful texture. The fennel sausage pasta had kale and notes of citrus which I found to be both tasty and refreshing, yet it somehow remained rich in flavor.

We love this place. We went there for brunch. Probably the best eggs Benedict in Utah. Great quality food, service, drinks and such a beautiful cozy space.
