The Break Sports Grill Murray

In the service industry, the customer should never have to be the one to engage first.

I have been coming to this bar since they opened a few years ago, and I am also a former bartender. Great experience at first, and I gave a positive review about that in the beginning. I don't feel the same way I used to, though.

My thoughts? FOH staff, especially the bartenders, need to pay more attention to their regulars. They are what keep the lights on, after all. I'm not talking about the loud, obnoxious ones, either. I was a weekly patron for many months during a particularly trying time in my life, and eventually chose to go somewhere else because the bar staff here is just so aloof and inattentive. I gave it time, too, because there are bad days, right? You don't always know what someone else is going through. However, there were times where I never felt so invisible.

After six or more months of weekly visits, there is only one bartender here that ever even made the effort to learn my name or tried to remember what I might like to order. I still often get the cold shoulder from her too, though, and I just don't understand.

Now, I may stop in for a quick beer or meal with friends. But, it's not my go-to anymore. I really wish that was different.

We were looking for something out of our normal routine and remembered that The Break had a wonderful brunch, so we thought we would try dinner. We were able to be seated right away and our server Em came right up to great us. We had the pretzel bites for an appetizer, the Chimichurri sandwich, and the jalapeño cheesesteak. Everything was delicious. Em was attentive and truly a delight. Our favorite part of the evening was Shandi Michelle. She was the live entertainment/vocals! The Break may be a sports bar, but Shandi was all we wanted to watch. Thank you for such a wonderful evening we will be back for the service, food , and entertainment.

My buddies and I hit The Break for Thursday Night Football, Guinnesses flowing like a river, pint after pint, I must’ve gone ten deep chasing that perfect split G, treating each glass like a personal rivalry. The air was loud with cheers, Dart and Skattebo were electric on the television and the place had that buzzing energy that makes you feel alive.

My burger came out sizzling. Across the table my buddy Bowman was cleaning up at bingo, the place rumbling. We were unstoppable… All until the mac and cheese showed up and poisoned me.

At first bite, it was like heaven, creamy, cheesy, and smooth. But an hour later, it betrayed me in cold blood. My stomach turned inside out, sweat hit my forehead, and I was fighting for my life. I felt like Kobe Bryant the night he tore his Achilles, broken, exhausted, but still determined to finish strong. I metaphorically “hit my free throws,” but make no mistake, my night was over.

The Break gets props for the burger, the Guinness, and the vibe, The night was perfect, right up until the mac and cheese carried out its quiet little assassination. 3 out of 5 stars.

Such good food, good service. What I witnessed at this bar was staff talking and working together. Communicating, making the flow of everything work just right.
Often I sit with my wife and read the room and see how employees handle things. Every staff member was kind polite and very helpful.
Carlos was accurate, food came fast and I could tell he went the extra mile.
Blade, the bar you run is absolutely the best. Thank you for having such a good place to be.

If you've never been here before and you're using GPS make sure that you pay attention as the entrance is a little tricky. There is plenty of parking. We typically go to the break at either Daybreak or in Saratoga Springs. This is the first time we've been to the one in Murray and we were not disappointed. My wife and I love going to the break for burgers and other entrees. We don't drink but the staff is super friendly and the clientele of patrons is always friendly as well. We enjoy the company of others at such a friendly establishment. Our server Carlos was absolutely fantastic and he had the bartender make us fantastic tasting lemonade. If you're looking for a good night out and some fun where there's TVs with sports channels and movies on and stuff like that and enjoy some good company and some great food, I highly recommend going to The Break.

The break is awesome for delicious food and a fun time with friends. This location is right on the river with beautiful trees and a porch for outdoor dining. We were upstairs for a private event. Great staff. We had Ahi nachos and the chicken rice bowl. Both so yummy. Their fries are amazing.

Sports bar with great service and decent food. Easy to pop in and out when you need a bite and catch the latest games. Tried the weekend brunch for the first time today and I might have to do this more often because there were a lot of offerings on that menu I was curious to try. Enjoyed the pomegranate cocktail that I had. Thanks for the warm welcome Gary.
