Had Rubie River tonight. Food has definitely gone down hill in my opinion. Probably won't be going back

Place is a joke… got here at 7:45 pm to grab dinner by my self and they told me “we’re closing” . Thought this place closed at 9:30 with people still getting served inside. From San Diego and came across this place and wasted 30 minutes to get here. Thanks for nothing

Best restaurant ever! Every time we come the food is fantastic and the service is wonderful. We visited the Ogden Ruber River and it was the worst experience ever.
Salt lake all the way. We will be forever customers!

My filet mignon was not as good as it usually is & the broccoli was too tough to eat. It wasn't my best visit at this restaurant.

This review is based off the service we encountered, not the food. This is not a baby-friendly restaurant. Upon entering the host greeted us and saw we had a baby. They couldn’t give us an initial wait estimate and had to go to the back and ask someone else. They proceeded to to tell us that they have to wait until a certain table is available since we have a baby that requires a stroller or highchair. We were quoted 15-20 mins. After 2 more groups of people come in after us and be seated, 25 mins later, we ask how much longer and they couldn’t tell us since they are waiting on a specific table. We asked if we could sit in the corner (several empty tables) and the high chair wouldn’t be blocking anything since it’s a dead end. They told us we could not sit there. Some up front signage would be welcome to let parents know that they will have to wait longer than other patrons without kids. We ended up leaving since they couldn’t give us an updated quote and were inflexible with allowing us to sit elsewhere. In addition to this the restaurant is extremely warm and our baby was overheating just being in the waiting area. If you have a child that requires a high chair or stroller I strongly recommend you go elsewhere because you will not feel welcome at this restaurant. We ended up going to Big H’s next door and got seated and received our food within 10 minutes of entering the restaurant.

Stepping into Ruby River on a bustling Saturday evening is an experience in itself. The restaurant has managed to strike a perfect and difficult balance, feeling both refreshingly new and deeply rooted in the classic character of a beloved steakhouse. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with rich wood tones and comfortable lighting that creates an atmosphere of relaxed elegance. It's the ideal setting for a special occasion or, in our case, simply a perfect weekend dinner, setting a fantastic stage for the meal to come.
Of course, the main event is the food, and it is simply unbelievable. While the menu has many incredible options, the Porterhouse is a true showstopper. Yes, it commands a premium price, but it is an investment in culinary perfection that is worth every single penny. What truly sets Ruby River apart is the phenomenal skill of their chefs. When you ask for medium rare, you don't receive something in the ballpark—you are served the textbook definition of medium rare, with a flawless sear giving way to a warm, brilliantly red center. It’s a clear testament to a kitchen staff that are true masters of their craft.
Tying the entire experience together is the service, which remains, as usual, absolutely spectacular. The staff moves with a polished efficiency and genuine warmth that makes you feel both welcomed and well-cared-for from the moment you arrive. They are attentive without being intrusive and knowledgeable about every aspect of the meal. It is this powerful combination of a wonderful atmosphere, flawlessly executed food, and impeccable service that makes Ruby River a consistent and undeniable standout in the Salt Lake dining scene.
