Every now and then, I’ll stop by this spot with coworkers or friends. Their menu offers a solid variety, and the dishes are consistently satisfying. While the prices are a bit higher compared to other Vietnamese restaurants in town, the inviting atmosphere makes it worthwhile. Considering its prime location in the heart of Sugarhouse, the pricing makes sense—they likely need to adjust for the cost of operating in such a high-rent area.

We had a nice quiet lunch at Somi today. My shrimp were delicious but may have sat a bit and were spicy. My daughter and I had the vermicelli salad hers being vegetarian and mine with prawns. She had a coconut water out of a coconut and it tasted refreshing for a hot day. The pho was served steaming hot and with plenty of peppers, basil and sprouts.

I had the Pho grass fed waygu. The meat was nice and soft to eat, the noodles and broth tasted amazing😍. First time eating here. I’ve had pho at other places but this pho was a whole other level. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re ever in Salt Lake City, Utah.🙂

We have been 7 or 8 times. So amazing. Calamari is the best we have had. Everything is amazing. On my birthday I asked if they would add some stir fry veggies to the tangerine trio. It was over the top!!!! Signature dishes are a little more but so worth it.

Initially it seemed our service was slow but they explained that was due the salmon being cooked fresh. I ordered the sesame chicken dinner my son ordered the pan seared salmon. The salmon was cooked to perfection ni dry spots even in the edges and the sesame chicken had great flavor. We had potstickers for an appetizer that came with 5 and were bigger than other places. They even brought me 2 drinks because I drain them so fast. We ate outside with my dog and they brought her a bowl of ice water. Overall a great place to dine. My son ordered fried rice to go so we spent more and most dishes are $20 or less with their specialty dishes a little more. Rodel was our server and was very friendly and courteous.
Update I've taken two of my other sons here and they both liked it the service and food was consistent with the bananas foster and creme brulee both being fantastic.

Absolutely lovely place. I have been going here for several years now, the quality is consistent and the food is wonderful. The menu has several vegetarian options for me and many gluten free options for my love. I’ve been to Vietnam and Somi offers an authentic blend of flavors mixed with creativity. Even better is the hospitality, every server I’ve encountered here is delightful. I can’t remember all of their names but Charlyn last time was especially welcoming and kind, as is the owner. I will be a lifelong customer, thank you.

Very very good calamari! No sauce needed :) Very well seasoned. I also tried the avocado and cucumber spring rolls with no noodles. I greatly appreciate them being so accommodating with my no noodle request. Yummy and healthy! I REALLY enjoy their mango salad. I had to order it as a side order because they don't have a full size dish of it. Wish they did - I would order it every day. The location is great but parking is not the best. Restaurant is clean. It's like a modern twist (with some traditional dishes) Vietnamese restaurant.
