Spencer's For Steaks and Chops Salt Lake City

Spencer's was fantastic! The ambience was quiet and peaceful, the food was absolutely delicious (especially the Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes, and our server, Savannah, was helpful, polite, and fun. We had a great time and we highly recommend the place.

We went based on local recommendation. It was okay but could have been much better particularly for the price point.

My wife and I had a 7:00 reservation. We arrived on time and they finally sat us at 7:30. The hostess was fairly unapologetic about it. While we waited for our table we had drinks at the bar. The bartender was friendly. When our table opened, they made us close our tab, and carry our own drinks to the table. I know this seems petty, but for a $350 dinner, I expect to be a little pampered. David, our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. The food was acceptable, but having eaten here last time 20 years ago, the quality has certainly gone down hill. There are a lot of other restaurants in this price range that I would recommend over Spencer's after last night's experience.

Does quality has gone way down over the years, while the prices have skyrocketed. This used to be our favorite steakhouse, sadly not anymore.

My husband and I went to Spencer’s to celebrate his promotion at work and belated birthday. We ordered the honey butter board and the charcuterie board and both were phenomenal. We shared a wagyu tomahawk steak and various sides and they did not disappoint. Not only was the food amazing but our server Francisco was top notch. Francisco gave us a wonderful experience and I’m incredibly grateful. When we go back I will absolutely ask for him to be our server again.

Food was great. Ordered Market Fish, which was Red Snapper for the day. It was good, but lacked a bit on seasoning. And the fried zucchini could have been fried a bit longer. Another member of our party had ordered the 21 oz Cowboy Ribeye finished off with Sea Scallops; however they brought out a completely different steak (14 oz Wagyu Ribeye) without Sea Scallops.

Been here a few times for work and the food is fine. It’s a very expensive steakhouse in a Hilton so I’d expect more. No one really seems to care too much working there and I don’t blame them. It’s fine but not worth the price tag.

Was really excited to check this place out and unfortunately it was underwhelming and SUPER pricey. Has no business being as expensive as it is because it’s not that great. We started off with the shrimp and lobster claws, wouldn’t recommend. Then my husband and I shared a French onion soup (which was literally the best part). We each ordered a steak and they could’ve had way more flavor for expensive as they were. Our server was an awesome guy, but the food isn’t worth it at all. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Ate at Spencer's in 2014, my first trip to Utah. Yesterday was my last trip to Utah, ate at Spencer's. Great start and end to 11+ years of doing business in SLC/UTAH. Thank you!

Best steak house I’ve ever had!! Me and my bf sat in the rare room (21+) and it was nice and quiet. Everything came out fast and service was phenomenal. I highly recommend if you’re in the area

Thought it was just ok for the price. Go next-door to Ruth Chris. Service is better. Drinks are faster and steaks are much better.
