Waitress was nice, ambience was high end, meat selection was great. My $70 rib eye was cooked perfectly and aside from nearly choking from connective tissue or whatever it's called, overall it was a good time.

Wow! When I say I never review restaurants I am not lying. But as a public service announcement I have to warn others. If you want to feel like you are part of an “it crowd” you might like it. If you feel like a $109 steak should be f...ing awesome then do not go here!!! Maybe you like cotton candy set on fire? I have never felt like someone reached into my pocket and stole from me more. Dead to me!

Dining with an important supplier and the CEO of my company imagine how embarrassing it was for the manager to ask us to leave our table for the next guest. I can only imagine our bill was at least $1600. None of us in the group who often travel had ever had anything like this happen before. I will never go here again for a business dinner.

I’m not one to leave reviews at all, especially not bad ones, but for an expensive fine dining restaurant I expected so so so much better. I don’t go out for a nice meal often, maybe 2x per year, but I know what is expected of a place like this.

First thing that didn’t sit right was that I made a reservation in advance and received a text saying my table was ready, yet had to wait to be seated once I arrived (~5min, not a big deal at all but I was notified that the table was ready so was a bit of an inconvenience for a fine dining experience). I did the steak night deal, and it comes with a soda whereas other locations that aren’t in Utah provide a whole BOTTLE of wine for the same price. The soda was not good at all, would’ve preferred a free soda or nonalcoholic drink of my choice instead of an electric red soda with bad flavor, but I knew the soda came with the meal so can’t fault them for that.

After finishing our bread, waiters took our silverware and did not bring another set when our appetizers arrived. We had to flag down our server, John, to get us a new set. He was very difficult to get ahold of but the place was busy. It is upsetting to me though that mediocre service is acceptable at a restaurant of the caliber that stk aims to be. Once again a minor disappointment but just trying to give anyone who, like myself, goes for meals like this as a special occasion and wants an incredible experience. You will not get it here from what I observed.

The main issue was with my dinner. I got the 12oz sirloin cooked medium. Expecting a nice pink, maybe slightly red, color in the middle. Correct me if I’m wrong but that’s my understanding of a medium steak. My steak was VERY red about two bites from the end (not even in the center). I would describe it as rare. I didn’t get a picture because I wasn’t too bothered at the time. Not an inedible cook, but not how I like it and I’m paying $80 for a special dinner. I found John after about 5 min or so, and asked him if I could get it fixed. He went to take the original back and I asked if he was going to just reheat that piece. Typically that would be fine, but keep in mind this is a $50 for just a steak alone at a fine dining establishment and reheating a steak ruins the cook. He said that’s what he was going to do but if I wanted a new one he could do that. I didn’t want to make trouble so I said reheating it was fine, but he kept asking me again and again so I ended up asking for a new steak. The second steak came out more rare than the first. John said it was the iron richness of the nice cut of steak. I have never heard that in my life. It was the color of a raw steak in the entire center of the meat. Sirloin isn’t even one of the most iron rich cuts of steak. If anyone agrees with John disregard me but I think that’s just raw. They likely didn’t let the meat sit to continue cooking and so it was underdone. John took the meat back and reheated the piece I had already begun eating, so if you ate at stk recently you probably ate a bit of my slobber too. I put a pic of my first steak to show you the incredible presentation (sarcasm). Just a piece of meat on a plate with some sad pickled onions or something. No concern for presentation at a “fine dining establishment”. The second steak I received was sloppily placed on top of the onions. Once John reheated it he hurriedly placed it down on the table and walked away without saying a thing. Dessert was fine, they have the same doughnuts at Olive Garden for ~$8.

Overall, mediocre service, my water was empty for a decent amount of time and I do not drink it super quickly, couldn’t get ahold of John easily, steak debacle was frustrating and made my experience turn negative. Most of the food was good, steak was good but lacking any special pizzazz. Stk, why are you reheating pieces of steak that have already been eaten on your grill……
