The FOOD was even better on a lunch special price. It had all of this pictured (Haiku) and miso soup to start. I left feeling so full and filled with quality food. The service was efficient, friendly, and consistent throughout the lunch. The atmosphere was perfect with natural lighting and cultural touches throughout the restaurant. 10/10 recommend! I'll be sure to be back for the dinner on a date night.

We had a great time on a Friday night at Takashi. Like others have said, the service from the host to sever to manager were all lovely. Friendly, helpful, charming! The atmosphere is fantastic from the waiting room, decor, seating options, to music. The food was great. Really unique options. I particularly LOVED the ceviche. For 5 of us, not being restrictive of what we ordered, but no kobe, no drinks - our bill was $220 including a 20% tip.

We visited on a recommendation while in town for a conference and the sushi was fresh, presented beautifully, and tasted amazing. Specifically the chef's choice nigiri combo, where every bite had a different burst of flavor. Service was friendly and wait was short.

Nice, food was good. Got a table right away FOR LUNCH around 1 p.m. heard that dinner it is a zoo so plan according.
Spent 62.00 for 2 people, a salad, 1 bowl miso soup, and 3 different rolls (one ice tea). All the rolls were 5 pieces each. We were both very satisfied with that amount.
The server was good, but a little slow in returning with requested items i.e. fork for the salad. Would 100% go back to try a few more dishes.

One of the best restaurants I've been to in general. The fried trout and the fried chicken are both amazing starters. The trout had a salty flavor and was fried crispy. It flaked off the bone and I was mesmerized. The sushi is tasty, fresh and made in front of you so well. A must visit in SLC!

That long line means they cut a lot of corners and pre-make lots menu items and do not keep at appropriate temperatures. That tempura doesn't taste fresh b/c it's pre-fried. The intense popularity has been their downfall.
Takashi has concerning food safety issues with the raw pre-made sushi. You’ll notice staff does not recommend things and are lukewarm when asked. They don’t eat it for good reason.
Notice the restaurant hasn’t disputed this review —bc they know it’s true. And not a lot of locals eat here bc they know.

I was a little suspicious of sushi in Slc but I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality here. Great flavors and generous portions given the quality and price. I would return/recommend.

Had an Absolutely amazing dinner here last night. I have celiac disease and they have the best GF sushi options I’ve ever had!! Server was so knowledgeable on the GF menu as well as other menu items that could be modified. Cocktail was also a highlight! Experience was 10/10.

Top tier sushi! Has got to be the best sushi in SLC. I live in Denver and frequent Sushi/Temaki/Izakaya Den, and this is right up there with those renowned sushi spots.
