I've resided in the south in the past and have some knowledge of a southern kitchen; while the customer service was exceptional, I was told the food had been changed ever so slightly to accommodate the Utah palate. Unfortunately, it was to much of a change from the standard to satiate my southern comfort carving. The food while delicious: had the bacon cheese grits, fish fries, and fish basket it was just missing that creole and/or Cajun flavor hence the rating. It was good food but it would be unfair to those reading this to say it was close to Southern cuisine. Again exceptional service and thank you!

Amazing catfish and crawfish étouffée. Worth the stop! Fried in cornmeal, crispy light and deliciously cooked inside.

Everything was extremely tasty and had outstanding flavor! Yes the food is a tad bit on the pricey side but worth every penny. When they're busy wait times do very, but its worth the wait because every item is made fresh!

I was starting to wither away due to the lack of seasoning here in Ut. Then my husband brought me here. Tastes like home 🥹
Pretty tasteless gumbo and chicken plate. Food took forever. No communication about length of wait. Poor service and food all around. Also, way too expensive for meager amounts.

I was having a hard time deciding between the sides for my chicken platter. It being my first time here, the cashier was able to get me both the red beans and rice as well as the grits for no additional cost! It was all so delicious and I’m really happy about the service of the place. It deserves its own dedicated location!!

Lousianian here. Food is excellent and representative of the real thing! Only thing that can be improved is more native Creole/Cajun dishes, but the quality is nonetheless excellent.

Taste of Louisiana is far best some of the
greatest food I’ve had in along time!
We ordered to take home and the food came in
a timely manner. We got a PoBoy of fried fish
that was excellent, the side order of grits, potato
salad, collard greens and Red Beans with rice
was so tasty also. The staff gets a shout out
for their smiles and attentiveness. Definitely will be going there again. Sincerely, Joana Castro

Wow! Still trying to figure out how I teleported to New Orleans and back in 30 minutes. This place is the real deal! Great staff and deliciously authentic food. I’d give more stars if I could!
Fun place and even better food! We loved everything that we tried and will definitely be back!

The food here is amazing!
We tried the basket with chicken, shrimp, and fish. With rice and beans and macaroni salad. The fish was so good, definitely want to try the fish po boy next time.
We also had the shrimp po boy and daaang! The bread is soft. The veggies are crisp.
Rice and beans have a lot of flavor.
Potato salad was great. And they had my favorite strawberry Fanta!
Even tho things were fried, it wasn't greasy or make us sick. So they must use great ingredients when cooking.
The woman at the counter was so so friendly and helpful while ordering.

Well well well, I finally got to experience the Woodbine food hall, and this was one of the places I tried out. I will say, my exposure to southern cuisine was the Bayou, and that certainly wasn't great. So I came in with fairly low expectations, and I was so happy that i got to try it.
We sampled a little Jambalaya and the Collaboration. That sold my fiance and I ordering from Taste of Louisiana. We got The Collaboration, a side of Red Beans and Rice, Dat Sweet Tea and we finished it all off with their Banana Pudding. Now let me tell you something. "Wow". I think that was the first word that came out of my mouth when I took a bite out of that Collaboration dish. It was full of seasoning, an abundance of flavor. The chicken was light, crispy and full of flavor! The Andouille sausage was incredibly flavored, the collard greens were clean, immaculate. The whole dish was a beautiful combination of delicious flavors that I had not known to exist in this state. I would highly recommend this dish to anyone wanting to try out southern cuisine, the right way, in SLC. The red beans and rice were very yummy, the beans had a slight sweetness to them that helped accompany the main dish, such a lovely experience with these two items. Dat Sweet Tea? Not as sweet as you may think, but it was refreshing and fruity, I feel it didn't like I was having sweet tea, but something better. I'm not sure on the ingredients, but this drink, was amazing as well.
When we finished this meal, we had banana pudding. From what I understand, it was all made from scratch, and oh boy, the creaminess of the pudding combined with the crispy top layer made for a refreshing and sweet end to that heavenly meal, I'm glad I got the last one, I would have missed out on one of the best desserts in the area. My favorite part? Not too sweet.
Lastly, I really have to highlight the people behind the counter. They made this possible. Their passion really came out in the dishes they made. Truly flavorul and full of the love they have for the craft. Their hospitality truly shined and made this experience absolutely a joy, to truly taste flavorful southern food, the gold standard in SLC for southern cuisine. I will recommend this place for anyone that wants to experience very flavorful food!
