Cool vibes, decent drinks, but WHAT is going on with the food?? Very disappointed at this price point.

We made a reservation for the speakeasy underneath the Bodega, called The Rest - and it was a real treat. You walk into the Bodega, which is its own spot for drinks and light food - and the bartender there will let you in a locked door and direct you down to the speakeasy - where you are met with a different host and a whole food and extensive drink menu. Dark, fun, great service. Good drinks, good food - and a very fun atmosphere - this is definitely worth checking out!

The pickled pears with the charcuterie board was amazing! Beer can chicken was delicious and the ambience has a great vibe! Hilary was our server and did an incredible job! Very knowledgeable and patient!

Love the atmosphere here, upstairs is chill small spot for grabbing quick drinks. Hidden downstairs is other world. Love the beer can chicken. All the Whiskey drinks are great.

Fun speakeasy in the basement of the Bodega. Lovely elevated ambiance and menu. There is a fun old fashioned flight option with a variety of choices of flavored bitters. The bananas foster wasn't very tasty, but the black walnut was.

Such a cool location! The ambiance is well worth the reservation and cost of the experience, though, the cost wasn't bad at all for what we got. We ordered the charcuterie for 2, which was plenty for the two of us and everything was delicious, especially the chorizo! We also ordered two old fashion flights and let the server pick the bitters for us. A very creative option if you're a whiskey and/or old fashioned. For food we ordered the maitake mushroom and pork shoulder adobado, both were very good. The suggestion from the server was all dishes were meant to be shared, which is our favorite way to go out to dinner. There was plenty for both of us, especially with the charcuterie as an appetizer. Simply an amazing experience and I will definitely be going back.

Small drinks, small portions, big price. I really like the ambiance of this place. And I must say first that I am not a drinker, I know this is a bar. BUT we had a recommendation that the food here was great. We ordered 2 appetizers, the charcuterie board and the shrimp. The charcuterie board was good but came with only 2 half slices of bread to eat with the cheese, jam, meats (not a lot), etc. There were 4 shrimp total. Each appetizer was around $20. I ordered a mocktail which was good but a huge Ice cube in the middle with very little to drink, and as I looked around other cocktails were pretty small. My main dish, I ordered the fish, was literally a whole fish with the head and bones and all, and not a big fish. Skinny and small. Flavor was good but I hate picking bones out. At a nice restaurant?! It came with some risotto which had a very nasty flavor, I have no idea what was in it, it made me sick and I couldn't eat it. For $40. My husband had the scallops, about the same price, his dish came with 3 scallops and a few pieces of roasted leek. Definitely not going back. Food was not great, tiny portions, and our bill with tip was about $150 for 2. No alcohol.

The food was all either overcooked or undercooked. Bison special was too tough to chew and potatoes were 70% done. Service was good, drinks were good, great ambiance. The food just didn't impress.

Super cool experience and great ambiance. Music is from a record player connected to speakers which is super cool. Great wait staff as well. Food is smaller proportions if you are looking for a big meal but very delicious. Recommend the lobster pasta/ ravioli, scallops, and the charcuterie board.

The Rest is fantastic! It's a perfect spot for a date night or catching up with friends. Between the amazing craft cocktails, delicious food, and rustically cozy atmosphere, this place is an under-appreciated gem. The cocktail and food menus change every few months to feature seasonal ingredients and flavors, meaning there is always something new and delicious to try. The staff is attentive and friendly, and the mixologists truly know their craft. Absolutely love this place. 10/10

Hanna, our server, greeted us with a smile - her energy and aura were positive and upbeat the whole night. Food and drinks were amazing! The Harissa Carrots are a must have, as are the scallops (cooked to perfection). I'm a vodka drinker so asked for a recommendation. The Wheel and Deal was offered up, and I went for it (a couple times). LOL The mood and ambiance is what really hits home for us. Vinyl records play throughout dinner, complete with the scratches and hiss from yesterday. We have eaten here before and brought two newbies, who were blown away by the food and drinks. Keep doing what you're doing and put your spin on your devine getaway in Salt Lake City!

This is a favorite place to take people in the city. The overall vibe is moody and cool. The beer can chicken is stellar as are the mixed drinks. The old fashioned flights is my go too. There were two reasons I didn't give them 5 stars: the broccolini that came with the beercan chicken and potatoes (so yummy) was undercooked and quite tough, plus we felt rushed out toward the end of the meal. Since the restaurant was far from capacity, it didn't really make any sense. Having said that, this place is a go to for me. Oh! And the charcuterie was on point!

Atmosphere is cool. Can order blind drinks and get something you haven't had before and unique. Did this with some coworkers and every drink was amazing, despite not knowing what you'd get besides the alcohol and sweet/savory. Got the market fish, which was salmon, and it was amazing.

Horrible service. I ordered one shot and the bar tender was rude. When I paid I choose not to leave a tip due to his attitude. When he saw the check he confronted me saying in a rude tone that I forgot to tip. Because he confronted me about it, I said sorry and left a one dollar tip for the single shot I ordered. After he looked again and said that’s not enough and said in a horrible tone, “guess you aren’t having another.” I will never go back to this bar.
