The bake goods here are great. I assume the coffee is fine also but we really just drop in for to go Morning Buns. One frustration is usually a long wait to get our baked goods when others coffees are being made. Their other location seems to be better about this but also busier in general.

They have been out of quiche every time I’ve come here. Croissants are always over baked. Cinnamon rolls are dry and have barely any frosting. The olive oil cake is probably their best item. I’m always hopeful when I come here, I just always leave disappointed.
Tulies: at least you’re consistent. The food is consistently good. The service is consistently terrible. Like, actually terrible. The employees treat you like you are an absolute nuisance. I wonder how a place with such good food would do if they had even halfway decent customer service.
Cute and pretty good.. but not selection waa not overwhelmingly fab tiday..

TL;DR
Slow service, pricey food, and weird passive aggressive comments
I was visiting SLC for the first time and this popped up as recommendation. We were in the area so we decided to stop, the staff in the back seemed busy so it took a while to place our order. I ordered a medium seasonal iced latte and my friend ordered a sandwich and small iced latte. We ended up getting the same sized latte, but they were busy and I didn’t want to make a fuss about 4 extra ounces so I didn’t mention it. The coffee was below average, I was so dissatisfied with my latte that I went up the street to Java Jo’s afterwards to get a better (and cheaper) drink. My friend liked the sandwich and after taking a bite, I agreed it was good.
Despite the bad coffee, we decided to go back the next day and make it our last lunch in SLC. We made the mistake of bringing in plastic water bottles that we had just bought (the dry, desert air is not something we’re used to). It was less busy this time around but it still took a while to place our order again, my friend was helped first, then the employee that helped her left and I had to wait a little longer. A new employee helped me and as I placed my order, I asked for it to-go but they informed me that we couldn’t eat in there if we asked for it in a to-go box, which makes sense to be environmentally conscious but we knew we weren’t finishing our meals so we had to ask for boxes anyways before we left. While I was still placing my order the employee then comments that the “world is on fire”. I was mostly puzzled because they didn’t elaborate but after they had the nerve to repeat themselves, I realized they were making a passive aggressive comment about my water bottle, yikes! If there was an issue with me bringing a water bottle into the establishment then just say it straight up? The sandwich didn’t taste good at all after the interaction. Towards the end of the meal they gave my friend a free pastry after I got up to go to the bathroom but I couldn’t tell you if it was good or not because I didn’t want to try it after that interaction. My interaction seems minuscule but reading other reviews has confirmed I’m not making it up in my head.

Decent bakery. We ordered coffee and food to go and a little barista boy tried to tell us we couldn’t sit down while we wait? We sat anyway of course, and the coffee took forever.

The bacon & egg and the ham & cheese croissants are some of the best things I've ever eaten in my life. The lemon tart and savory scone are also quite good.

The place was really hot inside, coffee was cold and kind of sour. Nothing like a real expresso. Not enough choices of things to eat.

Good banana bread and Chocolate Bouchon, staffs seem to be irritated by our question and request.

my food was stale and hard. It was like they were serving food from the day before.

I had a lovely vegetarian quiche that doesn’t rely too heavily on cream or butter for its sumptuousness. The tomatoes in the quiche were semi-sun dried so you get that pungent tomatoey flavor and still everything feels moist and delicate. The atmosphere is not amazing. But the food more than made up for it. My hubby loved his soft boiled egg toast with avocado and Parmesan shavings.
