I tried Ultimate Food Essentials while in the SLC area for a week-long business trip. I was very excited to try the service since I wanted to eat healthy meals without the time and stress of meal prepping on my own in a foreign kitchen during a busy work week. The meals were organized, easy to reheat, and delicious. Unfortunately, I can't recommend Ultimate Food Essentials because the communication was terrible. I did not receive a confirmation that my order had been received, so I was left hoping the meals would arrive. I left voicemails that went unreturned, as well as sent emails that went unreturned. I also had trouble with the website, and an order I cancelled online was not cancelled, so I received two orders for my first delivery. (The plan I requested included a Monday and a Thursday delivery.) I requested to cancel my second delivery for the week, as well as a refund for the duplicate order, and while I did not receive the second delivery, I did not receive a response to my email and at this time (Sat. 7/17/21) have not received confirmation that the duplicate charge was refunded. Finally, my order was promised by 8:30 pm but was not delivered until 10 pm, and I was not able to reach anyone by phone to check on my order. I do want to emphasize that the meals were good and ultimately did reduce stress during my work week, but the miscommunication, lack of communication, and website/cancellation/refund issues made for an unfortunate first impression. Update #1: You can see from the "owner" response how little this business cares about the customer experience. My review has been updated to 1 star (from 2 stars) to reflect the continued lack of professionalism from Ultimate Food Essentials. If there were questions about the proper address (one being the business/billing address and one being the shipping/delivery address) or names on the order (one being my name and one being the name of the authorized signer on the company credit card used to pay for the order), a simple phone call from the business would have cleared up any confusion. I called during business hours on Fri. 7/9/21 and Mon. 7/12/21 to discuss my order and my calls went unreturned, in addition to my attempts to reach someone after my promised delivery time was missed. You can't ask for a more honest review than this. Buyer, proceed at your own risk. Update #2: I've attached a screenshot of the email I received from the business regarding my review, in case you were still on the fence about whether this is someone you want to do business with. In the event the screenshot I've attached does not appear for you, I've copied and pasted the text of their email sent to me on Sun. 7/18/21: You are not an honest person and you completely acted like a child during this whole process. And we are glad that you are gone and we will not have to deal with you again . I can’t believe that you would lie in a review just because you had a temper tantrum and the delivery came late . you don’t know where you live and you sent us 2 addresses.Your recommendation is worthless .Have a nice day NARC

I'm posting this review as someone who purchased a meal plan for a new hire who came into town (Salt Lake City) for onboarding. I completely support her desire for healthy habits and supporting local business but after seeing not only the email exchange and this business's response to her online review - I can't believe that this establishment with such terrible customer service is still in business. After reading the name calling via email and the description on their refund (which came to me as our new hire used my credit card since she's new and doesn't have one yet) I will be filing a complaint with the BBB because no one deserves to called "a non desired customer with some mental issues", over requesting a refund for a duplicate order after multiple attempts of trying to get in contact with the business. So Ultimate Food Essentials, instead of calling someone dishonest and being confused over two addresses (one an office location and one an AirBnB) why don't you just call the customer if you suspect fraud so you can straighten it out instead of resorting to name calling (like dishonest, child, and NARC) or putting them down for not knowing where they live - of course she doesn't - she's not from here! And while you're at it keep your opinions about someone's mental health to yourself - your treatment is unacceptable and unprofessional. To all consumers: I would be V E R Y hesitant about ordering food from people who treat customers this way. It makes me uneasy to think about what volatile people like this could do to the food they prepare.

This place has been the absolute best, the food taste great, easiest to customize your food plan, and the lowest prices. I have had just about everything on his menu and they always deliver to my house. Kept me on track during the pandemic, they are my saving grace.

One of the best meal prep & food delivery services available. Utilized their custom macro meal plan and was never disappointed and food was spot on, there was a group of us who placed orders and due to our work schedule were concerned about receiving deliveries. Ultimate Food Essentials worked with us on deliveries and made it super convenient for us to receive meals and notifications when meals were delivered. Very professional and will be utilizing again when back in town!

Of all of the food delivery companies that are in the valley, this is the best tasting, and the most expensive. Food Delivery Service is based on the Paleo/Zone meal plans, and is delivered in a sealed insulated bag that will protect your food for up to four hours. Two deliveries a week. One on Tuesday, and another one on Thursday to keep the food fresh. They do not freeze their food. Delivery time window is between 4 pm and 9 pm. It is nice to come home and have dinner already prepared. This is a life saver, especially if you don't like to cook or have a busy schedule. I choose the maintenance meal plan (lunch and dinner only) with one delivery a week. For 6 meals, the price per meal is $17.33. That price is based on the meal plan I choose, the amount of meals, and tax and shipping charges for a total of $103.40 a week. (see copy of receipt) I found having chicken for most of the meals was tiring. I would like to have more of a variety maybe a nice fresh salad once in a while. They are pretty quick to respond to text messages if you need to get a hold of them for any reason.

I was really hoping to be a long term customer but I've found its just not worth the price. The food is good, but if you get the macro plan you are eating the same two things for every meal. They also purposely load up most your meals with chicken over beef. I even requested they not do this again but 7 out of 10 meals were chicken. At $11 a meal there's no way their margins are that small that they can't afford a few extra beef dishes. On the positive the meals are good, healthy, and delivered on time as promised. If money is no object I'm sure the Paleo plan is top notch and much more varied. Maybe I'll try again at some point. The prospect of not having to cook your own meals is hard to let go.

BUYER BEWARE! While they make claims that they can accommodate food allergies, they didn't follow through. I have several food intolerances and selected this service specifically because of this claim. I paid for a week of food ($150+) and was sent meals with foods I could not eat. When I contacted customer service, after several email exchanges, I was told that I had too many allergies to accommodate. I would have preferred to be told that from the get go instead of being sent the food, which I could not eat, and paying for a service that wouldn't meet my needs.

Ultimate Food Essentials is the third SLC meal service I've tried, and it is by far the best. I started getting the meals because I was having shoulder surgery so I wanted to make sure I had fresh meals that fit my nutritional/macro needs and could easily be reheated during my recovery. I was beyond impressed with the taste of the food. The quality of ingredients is amazing, and the flavor is superb. I'm very happy with the portion sizes, and I love that they deliver. This is a seriously wonderful option!

Amazing! Healthiest food you can eat in Utah. Meals are brought to your location every Monday or Thursday in the afternoon all conviniently packed and labeled with the amount of macros you are eating. Most importantly the food taste delicious. You will even forget that you are eating healthy food. This is how amazing it is! Highly recommend

Their service is excellent and the food is soooo delicious, I wish I would knew about it before. They have the healthiest meals for you to either lose weight or get lean. What to expect? 1) Fill out a form and explain allergies, what kind of foods you don't like (Ex. I dont eat pork or beef, I do not like onions, allergic to gluten, etc...) 2) Based on the amount of meals you order you will charged an amount. For example, 4 lunches, 4 dinners and 4 snacks cost around $150 3) On Monday afternoon you will receive a delivery with multiple meals. Each meal is labeled with the amount of calories, and the grams of protein, carbs and fat. 4) If you discontinue the service make sure you specify on the web otherwise you will be automatically charged. Overall: amazing! great service for people that is looking to eat healthier, or if traveling out of town and you are tired of eating on fast food this place is life changing. Home cooked meals in your hands.
