In the past we had a bad experience at Vertical and gave it a break for awhile. Well we decided to give it another try and I'm so happy we did. They've seemed to have remedied all things we had complaints about before. The service was wonderful, the food was hot and fresh and the atmosphere was so chill. My kids loved it too! We will definitely be repeat customers from now on.

Many gluten free options. Had delicious mild lettuce wraps. Others liked their tofu scramble and American diner. Casual diner, clean bathroom. You can almost see the 9th South WHALE in a distance!

Bombastic Biscuits and gravy were great. French toast was also very good. The homemade hot sauce and ketchup were a nice touch. Kids had lots of options and enjoyed the food. Just passing thru but glad we stopped. Only downside was no mimosa's until after 10:30 am which was the only let down but not sure if that is a Utah thing or not.

Whenever I'm in town, my sister always wants to go to vertical diner. It's ALWAYS good. ALWAYS consistent. However, I do NOT recommend this diner during the summer months. The diner was disgustingly hot. To the point where my partner felt like he was going to faint! We asked them if there was anyway to turn the air on, and they said that it was already on. There was no way that it was on because there was no air current, but we were too tired to push them on it....because it was hot. Hopefully the owner will actually read this and take some action. The workers are also complaining about the heat. This environment is ripe for a Worker's Comp claim, so owner, get on it!!

Great food. If you have someone who doesn't like vegan food in your party I think they will be pleasantly surprised. The food is really amazing! I love the outdoor shaded seating.

The Good: OK vegan food The Meh: Booth seating could use some help - the booth seat sank surprisingly low but wasn't completely uncomfortable. The Bad: Long wait for table Service was S L O W - so slow that after waiting 10 minutes at the end of the slow service meal, I finally got up and went to the counter to get the requested leftover box and pay our bill so that the 4 adults and 2 very small children in our party could finally, finally leave. I would not currently recommend this restaurant if you are dining with small children, are on any kind of schedule, or expect to be out in under 90 minutes.

This place had a cool vibe and good food. I definitely recommend coming here if you have any dietary needs (vegan, lactose intolerant, etc) because it's nice to have such a variety of options without having to worry about whether you or your friend can eat it. There was plenty of seating from comfy booths by the window to outdoor tables. The food was pretty good overall, not my favorite ever but a nice brunch and I took home and ate my leftovers. I am not vegan, so I can't compare to how it is to other vegan food, but I liked it. Some specifics: The "chicken" in the burrito was a weird texture, verh flat. But everything else (other fillings, fries, sauce, flavor, etc) was good. The chicken in the salad however was sooo good, I would've eaten a plate of just the chicken bites with ranch for an appetizer. The breading on them was crispy and hot. The asian lettuce wraps were flavorful and the lettuce itself was huge and crisp. I didn't like the mac and cheese a lot, I only tried a bite (and didn't get a picture).

We had a really nice experience here. Seated immediately, taken care of, food came out quick, and it was delicious. My husband had the "Dude Cakes" and I had the breakfast burrito with tempeh bacon, plus a chocolate chip pancake. The breakfast burrito was served with potatoes that were both crispy and fluffy and everything was very satisfying and I'd recommend everything we had. Some of it is just vegan junk food at its best and it's absolutely beautiful. Loved the relaxed vibe and that they played (my favorite kind of) cool music. We were just traveling through town but we will be coming back when we're around!

Used to love this place but the treatment I received on my last visit by the staff was so appallingly rude that I won't be coming back even if it is the only place in SLC that sells vegan gluten free pancakes. Advice to the business owner: train your staff on how to speak to people with respect. Christian should definitely not be in a managerial position. Or interacting directly with customers.

My partner & I came in for breakfast. Packed house! Very popular. Best idea would be to call in ahead of time. A lot of people were picking up orders. They have merch, & local art for sale. Delicious, friendly and inviting.

I am not a vegan, but I've had some delicious vegan and vegetarian food around Salt Lake City lately. I'm a big fan! I looked at reviews before coming here and the Buffalo tigers stood out so that's what I went with. They're made out of seitan, aka wheat meat. I loved it! The texture was great and the sauce was so tangy and flavorful. I believe the ranch is house-made. Also great. My friend ordered a cocktail, the high chai, and I got to try a sip. So yum. I can't wait to come back to try the Ian Mackaye burger, breakfast options, and these dude cakes I read about.

Delicious bar type food but all plant based. Food was super good, and wait times were relatively short. Friendly and helpful service to assist getting what we want, and great desserts too. Highly recommend this place

Oh man!!!! I went to a birtbday party that catered from here and I was incredibly impressed. I absolutely loved the sweet tamari tofu and the macaroni and cheese. I just looked at their menu and I'm so excited to try more. I've been trying to reduce my intake of meat and cheese....and this place will make it so easy to do because their food is so delicious!

I normally would skip over a vegan place but this was excellent! The super impressed by the alternative options of protein.
