So I am not usually one to leave reviews. However, I feel that I needed to for this. I have ordered from zao in the past with good experiences (the Sandy location) but never from the SLC location. I ordered off of door dash because I was working, which already charges double as it is. They took over 45 minutes extra which by that time I was ready to leave work. When I got the meal, it was cold.. the noodles were soggy, and it tasted… rotten? I’ve never had that taste from them before. Plus the dasher didn’t understand me when I asked what was taking so long but that’s a different story. I threw it out. And trust me when I say, I’m not a picky person normally!

Terrible service. I ordered delivery, it was canceled, and they refused to pick up the phone.

They apparently offer free kids meals but ONLY if you ask. Otherwise, they automatically charge you. Not honest.

100% recommended, food is always fresh. Please just be a little nice with the amount of protein you put into a bowl, servers pretty much counted how many pieces of stake they out into a bowl 🤦🏼‍♂️.
I used to work there and you can be more flexible in how to serve. Other than that. Zao is the place to go for a healthy plate.

it’s actually pretty funny how bad the service is here. like really bad. oh sure I’M annoying for having to ask 6 times for more cilantro cause each time she only put one more teeny tiny leaf on. i like cilantro! sue me! and if i ask for a bag maybe like put my bowl in the bag instead of just throwing a bag over the counter at me lmaooo

Chicken is so bland!! Flavorless really. The only thing that’s tasty is the rice and the pickled onions. The flavored punches are not too sweet, which is nice. I do appreciate the gluten free options as well.

Been coming here for years for lunch. Sgnificant dip in quality over the last few months. Less food, worse ingredients, unfriendly staff, and much more expensive. What changed? Won't be coming nearly as frequently.

Management do some self reflection and see what changes have made things worse and find ways to improve.

Didn’t check the time and accidentally came in within minutes of them closing and they were happy to accommodate me, as well as with all ingredients still available.

Zao has gone the way of many as of late. Raised prices (without any indication on the menu) smaller portions (she barely gave me a baby scoop of broccoli. I asked for a little more, and she said I would have to pay extra. Seemed very arbitrary). Unhelpful staff. It’s just not worth it at all anymore. That plus the shrinkflation without even telling customers that it cost more for Yakisoba in a bowl now. Literally no indication until it’s already made and you’re checking out. Pretty shady. I eat the same thing here about 1, or 2 times a month. Don’t think I’ll ever go back.
