Not too bad but not that great either. I feel that the prices were a bit high for the service and product. I have been to quite a few Japanese steak houses and this one is the bottom of the list for me. The starter soup was a bit of mushroom water, salad was okay, steak and seafood seemed mostely okay. The servers seemed to be rushing us. The cooks were good. We had a very large group.

When it comes to Japanese food, this is the best choice in Utah, tons of fun, its food and an experience and the food is to die for. I’ve been coming here off and on through the years and it’s well worth the money!

One of my all time favorite restaurants! Bonsai is the place our family goes for special occasions and celebrate special achievements! The service is always great and the food is amazing. The portions are big so I always leave feeling full!

Always a good time! Celebrated my birthday! They played the "kong" to the tune of happy Birthday. First time I have seen/ heard that. They take your pic and add it to their wall.

Regrettable Dining ExperienceRecently visited with a colleague on high hopes as he never had hibachi before, but unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Beyond the culinary letdown, there was a regrettable incident that inadvertently offended religious sentiments. The service was rude and rushed, and the overall atmosphere failed to meet expectations. Moreover, an incident occurred that left me feeling uneasy due to its insensitivity towards religious beliefs. It's disheartening when a place meant for enjoyment overlooks the importance of cultural sensitivity. I do not take certain meat options for religious reasons however was shocked to see the cook cooking different meat options without even bothering or cognigent of cultural/religious beliefs. The service staff's attitude was dismissive and rushed, and their lack of courtesy overshadowed any aspects of the meal. From the moment we entered, it was evident that customer service was not a priority. The waitstaff's demeanor was unwelcoming, and requests were met with impatience. This kind of treatment significantly detracted from what could have been an enjoyable dining experience. When I politely asked for a to go box as I had to forego my entree seeing the inconsideration towards religious sentiments, the wait staff promptly brought the check too even though my colleague was in midst of their meal. The wait staff too never showed the courtsey / concern I was undergoing during the entire dining experience. The cook was on a rush and completed the experience in 15 mins without much considerations of serving a good experience. In total we were forced to be done within 40 mins since we walked through the door with all hopes of having a fine dining experience in vain. This was the rock bottom of the tepanyanki experience I ever had. I will never visit them again!!!We rushed to Carvers Sandy to treat ourselves to give dinning and excellent service after this horrible experience.Dietary restrictions: No one is considerate or bothered of cultural, religious and dietary sentiments

We loved this restaurant! We came for my daughter’s birthday and she definitely had a great time. The whole vibe was very laid back and enjoyable! The food was awesome, so delicious!! My husband’s steak was honestly the most tender steak I’ve ever had! And the scallops were so tender and yummy. Our cook was awesome and made the kids laugh! The reason for 4 stars is because after our cook was done and left the hibachi, our waitress came and immediately asked us if we wanted boxes. So we felt like just after all our food was done she was trying to push us out. I didn’t like that. Otherwise, she was very attentive about picking up dirty dishes and garbage, and refilling our drinks. We will return!

A lot like Benihana's but not quite as good. The soup and salad are similar but not as good. The chefs are great though and super interactive, especially with the kids! Onion trains and little fires, flipping shrimp into your mouth. It's a good time for sure. There are kid specials that are pretty reasonable, like $12-18 I think. The adult prices are very similar to Benihana,$15-$60 ish. Soft drinks are $4 a pop. They don't do the chicken rice like they do at BH but the fried rice is really good too. I do like to take the kids here though for that reason (a little cheaper). The service is usually really good. The best times to go are a little bit before the dinner rush and on week days. I have been some weekends and it is an hour and a half wait often times. The kids meals do come with ice cream for dessert which they always look forward to. We usually get the chicken & shrimp or the steak & shrimp. All in all a nice little place to take the kids. If you want just a little bit better I would recommend Benihana's. But if your looking for a little bit cheaper option that is still pretty good then you can't go wrong here? we probably come here more often than we go to BH. No sushi at Bonsai btwParking: Large parking lot shared with other businesses.Kid-friendliness: Kids have a great time here.?

Went for friends birthday (but mostly for the Sake)! Get the sweet flavored sake, and make sure it’s the cold one, that’s the best one they serve. Large meals, you can split a single order but we bought 2 full meals, because who doesn’t like Bonsai leftovers?! Definitely even more fun going to dine here for your birthday!

Fun atmosphere, chefs prepare food on the grill in front of each table. The food was seasoned with sweet/salty sauces that was pretty overpowering. I would ask for light sauce if you’re sensitive to salt or sugar. The quality of the meat was great too, so it was a bummer it was hidden by an explosion of flavor. Overall very satisfied, just go easy on the sauce!
