I visited this location earlier today and was very dissatisfied. First issue was the bathroom doors did not lock. Second issue was the cashier tried to charge us for an additional drink since they were not aware the kids meal came with a drink. Final issue was finding a rubber tube piece in my sweet pork burrito. I will not be returning.

Thought I would give this place one more chance the sandy location only but they ruined it for the 2nd time asked for extra pork on my salad and steak on the other meal and literally only a one small bite of the meat and that’s it? Like why pay extra for extra meat when it’s only one bite especially if my toddler takes that bite and I don’t have any and the Manager called us and we asked her questions about it and how much they are supposed to give the customer she didn’t know anything and just kept saying uh huh on the phone like she is brand new and couldn’t answer any of our questions never going to the sandy location cafe rio again just because they need to learn how to portion out the food correctly especially the meat and the management needs to learn/ know these simple questions before becoming in management. The only good thing I can say is the cafe rio call team at this time was good help on figuring out how to get this figured out and understood our questions unlike the sandy management.

I love cafe rio’s creamy tomatillo dressing, but was super disappointed when I ordered a salad on 08/16. The dressing was not the same. I don’t know if an ingredient was missed or the recipe had been changed. Possibly the tomatillo part was left out? Also the tortilla wasn’t cooked . It was still cold. I ordered the salad without cilantro, but cilantro was added. When I attempted to fill out the survey, I received a code for something ( a reward) that should have been in my receipt, but nothing was listed. These are all minor compared to the problems in the world today, but if I’m going to spend money, I did expect Cafe Rio to come through. I’m just disappointed.

Good food! Not a huge fan of them but this is the nicest Cafe Rio in Salt lake! Worth the drive. Also they speak spanish and english! The lady making my bowl really loaded it!

Outlook: Negative.

My expectations were materially underdelivered in the latest transaction. My order—marketed as a “chicken burrito”—arrived structurally misaligned with its core value proposition. Instead of a balanced protein-to-carb allocation, the offering skewed overwhelmingly toward rice, with poultry exposure so minimal it bordered on non-existent. This dilution of the primary asset (chicken) represents a significant breach in brand trust and suggests margin-driven product engineering at the expense of customer retention. Recommend underweighting future visits.

Brought us a company lunch for about 80 plus people
The lady did a great job setting up and was very organized, the food though, the meat- the most expensive part of a meal- horrible
I should’ve taken pictures of all the chicken but I just took a pic of the first bite when I almost broke a tooth.
Y’all gotta do better and I would call The Hive D2D experts and give them at least half their money back because that company is bad ass and served us huge lunches all 3 days from different places. Their guests were some stone cold killers cause everyone looked in pain while chewing the meat but we were all so grateful that Sam and Jessica offered to feed us all. Please don’t cook chicken like carnitas

abysmal service, staff was annoyed with everyone in line, flat top and make line was repulsive. No one seemed like they knew what they were doing and no one was jumping in to help when things were so bad. I thought Draper was bad but this store wins for worst. Don’t go to this Cafe Rio, you have been warned

Love the food here! Only disappointment was ordering a side of beans to go with my kids quesadillas and having them be half the size they used to! Beans are cheap! 3/25/22 they've done a touch of remodeling to accommodate pick up orders. Just moved the drinks. Prices have gone up like everything else, portions down. I think the employees are new because they forgot to put everything on the nachos and forgot dressing on the tostada. Still really good food though!
1/31/24 I recommend going in to get your food. It's easier to order the family's preferences online and we were in a hurry tonight, but they didn't get everything right. We were short a niño quesadilla, which cost $1 now and are smaller than they used to be (but they do come with an orange slice which was a nice touch), and we had requested pico de Gallo on the side but realized when we got home there was none so that was sad. We love the pico there. But they did get the vegetarian and beans only (no rice) correct which was more important. It just took time I didn't have to go back in to get the missing quesadilla. Another helpful thing would be if they labeled which dish was which. We all got tostadas, mostly sweet pork, so we had to dig through to see which one had no rice, no meat, extra pico (they were all the same despite some ordering extra), etc. That was a pain in the car with no forks. They don't put them in the bag for you. It was my bad not noticing and grabbing them on the way out but it would be nice if they were put in the bag for me.
10/16/24 I forgot about this review and just read through it... They now have a sticker on each dish with all the details so you can tell which is which!! They also put utensils in the to-go bag as well! Don't forget to take advantage of their daily deals and 2x, 3x, and 4x points to get free food!
