We’ve been coming to this cafe rio for years. They are either poorly managed or just have lazy workers. The past couple months they run out of food several hours before closing and are unwilling to make more. If you close at 10, you should have all food available until closing and not run out of food at 7pm. Few weeks ago they were out of chips, unwilling to make more. Today they were out of grilled vegetables at 7pm. The guac scoop was half the normal size because the worker was unwilling to get more. If you go anywhere near (within 3 hours) of closing, be prepared for them to be out of several things.
Worth the drive, avoid the Draper location. The flavor here is WAY better!

This location is so very inconsistent. I used to eat here all the time and I stopped going because anytime I’d order they forget something or not give me the correct portion. I had the same thing happened today, I ordered a Double Enchilada entree and Queso and Chips. They didn’t include my beans or rice I ordered and I received a condiment sized cup of queso! I really thought I’d give them another chance but they are constantly dropping the ball. Won’t be back anytime soon nor will I recommend anyone visit this location.

Ordered thru GrubHub, food came late, cold, and tasted like leftovers eaten straight from the fridge before it spoils. Like spice added to grease.

I swear on everything holy the burritos I ordered for my son and me yesterday had MAYBE an ounce of meat in the whole thing. I can't stress enough how awful this location is.
We simply will not be back, ever. The 33rd south or Fr Union ones are fine, this one needs a visit from the powers that be.

These employees are rude and unprofessional!! An employee nearly ran me over trying to get her drink. The dressing they gave me was nearly empty. The tray they put my food on was dripping wet. I watched an employee slowly putting lids away unnecessarily while I just sat there waiting for help. I will not go back to this location!!!
If you like cold food and non-sanitary kitchens, this is the place! I’ll be reporting to the health department

Think we are officially done with Cafe Rio. We loved going to this location for more than a decade but unfortunately have noticed the decline first hand. The food is still reasonably fine but it’s mostly due to the staff that are not interested in serving customers but like to goof around and talk shit about them. One of the ladies last night was particularly rude pretending to not know what a salsa is and kept showing random things like veggies and cheese and asking ‘this’? How do you work in a Mexican restaurant, come from that heritage and not know what a salsa is? We later noticed they were having chuckles speaking in Spanish, which irked us even more. We know you are making fun of us even if we don’t understand the language!!! To the owners/management: as a business owner, I know finding good staff is hard now a days and can imagine sticking around with poor performers due to a lack of choice but there are other ways to mitigate bad employees. Thanks for serving us for close to 15 years but we are not coming back anymore.

Their portions are huge! My daughter and I have been here twice and we share the bowl. We also get their chips and queso. The cheese is good with a hint of spice. It's delicious! Highly recommend this location plus you get a mountain view!

This was always my favorite location until tonight.
I ordered online, and instead of my salad received a tostada, and they forgot my niño quesadilla in my order. I paid for a salad and a quesadilla but don’t know how to refund them and it’s too late to go back and replace them. It’s kinda disappointing to see this after so many successful orders here in the past.
I visited this location earlier today and was very dissatisfied. First issue was the bathroom doors did not lock. Second issue was the cashier tried to charge us for an additional drink since they were not aware the kids meal came with a drink. Final issue was finding a rubber tube piece in my sweet pork burrito. I will not be returning.

Thought I would give this place one more chance the sandy location only but they ruined it for the 2nd time asked for extra pork on my salad and steak on the other meal and literally only a one small bite of the meat and that’s it? Like why pay extra for extra meat when it’s only one bite especially if my toddler takes that bite and I don’t have any and the Manager called us and we asked her questions about it and how much they are supposed to give the customer she didn’t know anything and just kept saying uh huh on the phone like she is brand new and couldn’t answer any of our questions never going to the sandy location cafe rio again just because they need to learn how to portion out the food correctly especially the meat and the management needs to learn/ know these simple questions before becoming in management. The only good thing I can say is the cafe rio call team at this time was good help on figuring out how to get this figured out and understood our questions unlike the sandy management.

I love cafe rio’s creamy tomatillo dressing, but was super disappointed when I ordered a salad on 08/16. The dressing was not the same. I don’t know if an ingredient was missed or the recipe had been changed. Possibly the tomatillo part was left out? Also the tortilla wasn’t cooked . It was still cold. I ordered the salad without cilantro, but cilantro was added. When I attempted to fill out the survey, I received a code for something ( a reward) that should have been in my receipt, but nothing was listed. These are all minor compared to the problems in the world today, but if I’m going to spend money, I did expect Cafe Rio to come through. I’m just disappointed.
