This was my second go around here. My 1st go around was ok except I realized I didn't order my food without onions. There was tons of onions in my food. Ok lesson learned right? Today 8/7 I came and told my self today I will order my food without onions. Simple right? Before I ordered I asked the waitress does the Discada burrito have any onions? She tells me if it's not on the menu then no. Great I'll have the Discada burrito. Well to my surprise there was no mention of red onions or bell peppers on the menu either and it was in my burrito. There I am like a 5 year old fool picking all of this out of my burrito. My breakfast wasn't pleasant except for the immune booster shot and coffee. I am a picky eater and if I'm paying for food I should be able to enjoy it right? Don't judge me!

When my husband wants Huebos Ranchero this is one of his favorite spots. I usually get the mulas w/consume...I think that's how you spell it. This visit I tried the cream cheese berries crepes. They were AMAZING! I've had crepes before but they used very fresh berries giant blackberry and raspberry. Not over sweeetend. A+

We love El Barril Cafe in Sandy because it's a mix of two of our favorite things: breakfast and Mexican food! We loved everything we have had from our visits and we seriously would love to come back every single week. First up is the quesadilla omelette- our new favorite omelette! Ask for it topped with Birria, it takes this to a whole new level. the Huevos Rancheros were clearly beautiful and flavorful, we just wished there was a bit more sauce. We poured some of the consommé we ordered on top and then it was perfect! the Biscuits and Gravy breakfast burrito was indulgent to the max! We were worried it might be dry but it was not at all. Literal cheesy, carby, sausage-and-biscuit filled perfection! The Mulas were jam packed with incredible Birria and cheese, and they come with consommé we could drink and put on everything! The chicken street taco salad was a lighter option with juicy chicken. Lonches are like Mexican sandwiches and the Al Pastor inside of this was nothing short of exceptional. We prefer Al Pastor that is less sweet, which is what this is! Every bite was perfect. We finished off with the Banana Caramel Crepes, stuffed with cream cheese filling that was the perfect balance of sweet and savory. Guys, we love El Barril! One of our favorites.

Found a new birria place! They're birria was yummy, was a bit tough but overall delicious. The only thing stopping me from 5 stars was the service. The waitress that took our order seemed extremely rushed, and started walking away before I stated my full order and it took 10 minutes for our water to come out. Delicious breakfast and birria !

I cannot overstate my joy with this place, incredible! I'm a Southern California visiting friends and decided on a whim to pick this place- I'm glad I did! Best huevos rancheros this side of the Rockies, and their fresh juice is absolutely amazing. The vampire has the perfect kick to start your morning. The service is amazing and you feel very at home here, as if you were enjoying a meal in your family kitchen. I can tell a lot of love goes into this place, so thank you for making my visit to salt lake feel like home :)

Will definitely be back! Food was delicious and the staff was friendly. If you're unsure what to get, I highly recommend the mulas w/ consome (also, try one of their fresh juices, you won't be disappointed).
