We’ve been going to a fancier sushi place for the last year and decided to give this one a go. Not only was the sushi more affordable, but it was just as good, if not better! The service was fast and the server attentive. He even brought out some complimentary avocado for our baby! I think this will be our new go-to sushi joint.

Our whole family went here for a double graduation! My son and my grandson both graduated high school!! Our chefs were both amazing and had all of us laughing and enjoying the evening! The food was outstanding! The other staff that were there were very friendly, as well. Before we left, I had already made plans to go back there with my husband!! We had an excellent evening!Kid-friendliness: My 10 year old granddaughter was watching our chef, very interested in the whole process. He grabbed a bottle of soy sauce and squeezed it in her direction. Out came a stream of black string!!!! We all laughed our heads off! Both chefs engaged with our family of 18, making it enjoyable and memorable!????

The sushi was fresh, delicious and generously portioned. The price was fabulous. My 5 year old loved the gyoza and takis a noodles. We ordered 3 rolls, the Naruto something, Mars and something else. All were really good. But they took forever to come out. It was so slow. It took about an hour for all 3 to be served. I would have ordered more but for a lunch i didn’t have time.

Our first time here, but not the last. Everyone's meal was cooked to perfection. The chef / cook was very entertaining, too. We will definitely come here when visiting this area.

The service was excellent and fun. The atmosphere was nice. The food was good but I think I will try something different next time I go. I wish they had told me ahead of time that there was an extra charge for rice or noodles as I would have skipped the rice if I had known. Next time I will be prepared to skip the rice.

If I could rate zero stars I would. I had a party of four, one of whom is 9 months pregnant. We started by having to wait 10 minutes just for the host to greet us. We asked to be seated at a table but were told we could only order sushi at the tables and would have to sit at the hibachi bar if we wanted to order anything else. Because we had a pregnant woman we didn't have any choice and agreed to the hibachi bar. 40 minutes later we could finally be sat. We asked to sit on the corner so we could easily talk amongst ourselves but were rudely told we couldn't even though it would've worked if we switched seats with the couple next to us. After just a few minutes my pregnant daughter asked if anyone else smelled gas. It was true, there was a very distinct smell, like there had been a gas leak. We asked the server about it and he said it was from the grill. He turned a fan on but it was too late. My daughter was visibly shaking and about to be sick. We hurried out of that section back to the entrance and explained what had happened to the host. We asked if they could make any exceptions to let us sit as a table and have our food brought from the hibachi section when it was ready. Again we were met with a rude rejection. They were not willing to offer any flexibility to accommodate our situation. I don't think I can accurately describe the hostile reception every staff member met us with. I will not be returning and I don't recommend anyone else do either.

Very good (not great) hibachi—okay sushi. Hibachi chef was fun and good, hostess no matter how we tried wouldn’t smile!

We absolutely love this restaurant! Their sushi is delicious and is very inexpensive. They have yummy tempura, soup, salad - basically everything tastes great! They also have a hibachi grill, which is so fun for an occasional splurge! I highly recommend Koi!

The food was great here. We had a party of 5, without reservations and they got us in in less than 10 minutes. The filet/chicken and shrimp hibachi was delicious. Definitely will come here again. Only complaint is that the chairs seem a few inches too low for the grill table.

I'm not a fan of writing bad reviews. This place however has earned this critical review and here's why...We came to salt lake from our of town for my daughter's birthday and really loves hibachi. Lets just say, she was disappointed... this was the first hibachi place that sent out a chef incapable of performing standard hibachi tricks and then charged over 100 bucks. 3 adults and a child. He kept dropping things like rice bowls and it was really awkward. The food wasn't that terrible but they didn't de-vein the shrimp, you could see the poo. The drink selection was terrible as well. I'm surprised this place is in business. Perhaps there are enough people that come for the first and last time to keep it up and running. I can tell you for certain if I lived here, I would never come back.

I loved this place, I have missed hibachi food ever since my favorite Japanese grill closed. The price was a bit expensive, and this isn't a "go several times a week" type of place atleast for my family. The food was absolutely phenomenal and revived my hope in good Japanese food in Utah county. I ate some sushi from someone else in my party and it was very good, while I ate chicken and filet mignon with noodles. All of it was flawless food.

Really yummy place, go more for the hibachi experience than anything! Noodles were so yummy, shrimp was great, the steak was eh. Most hibachi around $21-$25. Comes with salad, soup, veggies, and 2 meats. You can add on noddles or rice for $2-$3.Gets really busy, even with a reservation we had to wait.
