Heard about this place from a friend so we had to try it. We were able to watch them make fresh tortillas the day we were there. They have a great selection of meats for the street tacos as well as other traditional Mexican foods. The meat was plentiful on the tacos and the tamale had a great meat to masa ratio. You are able to choose your salsa spice level. Place was clean and the people were great. Worth a visit.
This place is THE BOMB. My husband and I saw a TikTok video and decided to try it the same day. My family is from Veracruz and this is how they make their tortillas and nothing really compares. They had great customer service, it was quick, and DELICIOUS. This is my new favorite Mexican food restaurant in Utah. Definitely would recommend to anyone!
Great authentic Mexican food. Everything is homemade including the tortillas. I had the enchilada platter and my wife had a three taco sampler and loved all of them. We’ll be back!!
I love it when a restaurant I've never been to hooks me up with the best menu choices. House of Corn advised us on the menu, answered our questions, and then put together an incredible order that allowed us to taste lots of menu items. Their salsa bar is awesome as well. I'm excited to bring my whole family back.
I have no idea where these stars are coming from, go to gualbertos for way better and you can spend way less. The food was way too over cooked and hard, not even edible!! I had no idea that they made tamale jerky because that is what they have here. The tacos dorados should be tacos durados. They were so over cooked they were not even edible. The chairs were dirty. Stay far away from this place and go somewhere else!! The meat was flavorless. The fried tacos tasted like burned oil. We are now headed home to eat dinner.
House of Corn is really good Mexican food. They have your standard street tacos and a thing called battleship tacos. A battleship taco is a taco filled with things like potatoes, meat and beans. They are different but yummy. They make their corn tortillas fresh at the restaurant.I love street tacos and battleship tacos so I get one of each so I can enjoy both flavors. Support your local business and enjoy delicious tacos while doing it.
Wow! If you haven't had a fresh taco made with blue corn you don't know what you are missing. So much flavor.I don't know of any other Mexican restaurant that is as passionate about the food as House of Corn.Definitely worth finding this hidden gem in the strip mall off 7th East and 9400 South.Sooo much delishishness.
Good food with interesting options. Loved all of the protein but wished things were spicier! Will have to try more options next time. We ordered takeout this time and it was ready on a timely manner!
Have you ever had a Blue or Red Corn Tortilla?? I had not!Good thing for me House of Corn is bringing the Mexico Flare to Utah!!These Tortillas are like nothing I've ever experienced before. Watching the process and seeing the beautiful corn simply being soaked, ground then mixed, finally loaded on to the roller, resulting in INCREDIBLE Tortillas! ?While listening to Chef Armando talk about why he chose to open House of Corn in Sandy UT, you can feel his passion! He wants you to see, feel and taste why corn is so magical and so important to Mexico!Add in their Fresh Ingredients, tender meats and vibrant house made sauces you have a recipe for success! Make plans to eat there now! These Tortillas are a MUST EAT !!
I went to this restaurant, the place is nice, the service is great, the food it’s ok, if you have been in Mexico City you’ll know the sign of the subway (metro) and the decorations are really nice. When we went there was a Friday night, we were expecting a long line but just a few tables were occupied. After ordering or food it looked really nice, for my taste it’s too grease. We couldn’t use a table inside the restaurant as the ones available were with dishes, looks like they didn’t clean often.

I came here because a friend highly recommended it, and I totally loved it! My friend and I got a little bit of everything, but could not finish it all. The tortillas are so fresh and delicious, the Chile relleno was just at point, the tripas (tripe) were crunchy and tasty, and the service was the best. The owner was there and he shared with us that they make the tortillas from scratch! I know how to make them from scratch and it A LOT OF WORK! But The House of Corn nailed the perfect place that is authentically Mexican, not the Tex-Mex is trendy in the area. I'm from Mexico, and coming here is like traveling to Mexico. I highly recommend this place to try Mexican food that you'll hardly find around, but that is a hidden gem of the Mexican cuisine.
What a great place! Amazing food! We had the Chilie Relleno, Tinga Quesadilla (shredded chicken) and a few different street tacos (Pastor was my favorite) and all of it was absolutely delicious!! Now the only thing better then the food was the hospitality! Chef Armando was a great host and personally took us through our eating experience there! I would highly recommend House of Corn to anyone and everyone!! So lucky to have a place like this in our community!
Pretty good little Mexican joint. Friendly proprietor who is very proud of his food and excited to talk about it. You can buy the homemade tortillas to take home.
I had a relatively good experience here. The food was fresh and authentic tasting. The staff was friendly and accommodating.A couple of concerns though....the menu doesn't offer combo dishes in the sense that the dishes don't come with a side of rice, beans, or even a bag of chips. And for whatever reason, there wasn't any carbonation when I filled my drink.Overall, though, despite my complaints, the quality of the food itself is still worth giving this restaurant a shot.
This is not a typical dine-in chips and salsa Mexican restaurant, it is authentic Mexico City food. You order your food then find a table. Fun place to go out to eat and try something unique, price is around $10-$15 a plate. Food and service great!
