Excellent food and service, but a little spendy. The torch light parade and company were great so I'll do it again next year.
One of the best dining experiences in Utah. Highly recommend. The service was impeccable, Holly made us feel like we were in a 5-star restaurant with white glove service. Our entrees were so delicious and the desserts were PHENOMENAL!!!
If you're hungry this is not the place. Very expensive and not much food. What you get will be good but you'll need to hit another place after to satisfy hunger. 3oz of meat = $58
We wanted a change of scene from the excellent Snowpine Lodge where we were staying for a week. A short walk down the hill brought us to the Shallow Shaft restaurant. We loved the ambience as soon as we walked in. It is an old mining hut (silver used to be mined in the canyon) and has a similar ambience to what you would find in an old challet style restaurant in the Alps (although they could probably improve on the tables. A tiny bit dark for my liking, but I suppose this added to the mining theme. My husband and son had medium-rare beef and I had salmon. All cooked to perfection. Chocolate torte portion was a little on the American side. A bit pricey.
Situated in a relatively old building with timbers and antique objects. The food is excellent with themed nights. On game night I had Elk which was cooked to perfection along with the lmushroom ravioli. There is a good wine list. The service is excellent, friendly and helpful.
This was a place we loved and I am not sure what has changed about this restaurant if it’s a new owner or a new chef but it was terrible. We spent valentines here and the service was rushed, the food was terrible and the menu was bland. Unfortunately we won’t be coming back. We spend $200 on a dinner that was very bad.
Fantastic food and great staff! I highly recommend this restaurant! I had the filet mignon and my husband had the salmon both the dishes were delicious!
We had a great view of Alta. The service was excellent. I had blackened cod for the first time. It was delicious.

Went here with a large party and we were able to order lots of different dishes from the menu and share with each other. EVERY SINGLE DISH was excellent. Can't wait for my next visit. Yum! Really cozy vibe too.
Never disappoints. Anytime I go to Alta/Snowbird- this is where I want to eat. Tops everything. Top quality food in an authentic atmosphere with awesome unique wines. It's a complete gem and I look forward to going every time I visit.
Had an incredible meal on 12/21/19 for 7 adults and 2 children. Everything cooked to perfection with amazing flavor combinations! The salmon exquisite! Chef Nagey's sense of exciting cuisine infuses everything. Try the lamb tartlet, the grilled avocado and goat cheese salad with an amazing dressing. Soups are fresh and complex. Desserts homemade on the premises. They really know the best wine for each dish. WOW from all of us!
