I’m surprised I haven’t reviewed The Philadelphian prior to this visit. My son and I are frequent patrons when we shop at MRS Hobby next door. This time, on a whim, I ordered a French Dip w grilled onions and they nailed it. We’ve tried practically everything on the menu. All the sandwiches are great, fries and onion rings are terrific. “Atmosphere” is irrelevant. This isn’t a spa. Feed yourself!

I’ve been enjoying The Philadelphian in Sandy since the mid-to-late 90’s. Arguably they have the best Philly Cheesesteak in Utah. It’s up there with Moochies. However their Hot Pastrami and English Chips are my favorite. If you dine in be prepared to smell like a sandwich. ;). Poor ventilation, and not the cleanest restaurant, 80-90% men during lunch hour, but the food doesn’t disappoint. :)

I really do love this place—the food is so good. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the inside feels a bit run-down (think hole-in-the-wall, dive vibes). Personally, I don’t mind, but I get a little embarrassed when I bring friends along.
That said, the food more than makes up for it. The English chips come out piping hot and fresh from the fryer every time. My go-to is the cheesesteak loaded with onions, peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, and pickles—absolute perfection. Add a side of au jus if you are into that (I know I am, lol).
Overall:
🍴 Food: 10/10 (delicious, but definitely on the greasy side—so be prepared!)
🏚️ 0 (don’t come for the decor, come for the food).
Would still 100% recommend for the taste alone!

Onion rings horrible 😫 very very salty. And crazy expensive.

This place is absolutely amazing!! The only reason I didn't give it a 5-star rating was that the fries can be hit or miss. Highly recommend.

The staff was friendly. Got my order wrong but that I can let pass. The good however, got my friend and I sick. The fried mushrooms and onions weren't great either. Amoungst all the good reviews, disappointed as my experience was not the same.
It’s nice to actually have a place in Utah that makes good food. It’s hard to find out here and if you do you usually have to pay out the but to get it. This place has a solid Philly cheese steak at a reasonable price. The guy that said moochies has a better cheesesteak is delusional.
The place is dirty but the food is second to none. If you can get past how dirty it is it's amazing.

Truly authentic Philly cheesesteak here. Definitely best in area for sandwiches
I drive 40 minutes round trip for this cheesesteak. Enough said.
Very close to the real thing you will get ij south Philly. Only thing it needed was yellow onions and Cooper sharp.
Wow every time I go wow. Thank you for the last 30 years. Super great crew of night shift people. The godfather of the sandwich making at night. 6-day weeks and he never lets up. 100 A+ + quality.
Excellent food and well worth the price!
