Hokulia Shave Ice - South Jordan

Unfortunately had a disappointing experience at Hokulia today. We arrived around 4:00 PM and noticed the two employees were sitting outside with the window closed, even though their posted hours said they were open from 12 PM to 10 PM. We asked why they were closed, and they said the ice machine wasn’t working but they’d open in 20 minutes. So we walked to a nearby taco shop to wait. Minutes later, we saw the snow cone window open—but by the time we got there, the door was closed again with a new sign saying they were closed until 7 PM. As we were driving away, we saw one of the employees sitting on the curb eating a snow cone. When we asked how she had one if the machine was broken, she told us she had “just gotten off her shift at 4:30 and made one before leaving.” The time was literally 4:35. This whole experience just felt dishonest and frustrating. It came across like the employees simply didn’t want to work—and being told one thing, only to watch the opposite happen in front of us, was disappointing. We love supporting local, but this kind of inconsistency and attitude really discourages people from coming back. Hope management sees this and makes some changes.

Love this place! The shaved ice is super good and the workers were very nice. The sizes are really big and the flavors are great, especially Bahama Mama and Tigers Blood.

Awful service waited 30 minutes for them to serve 1 person in the line then they started taking are order and stopped to make the drinks for other people would give 0 stars if i could

I love going to the Hokulia Shaved ice! I am watching my sugar intake so I always get the Sugar free shaved ice. The hard thing is they don't always have the sugar free syrup. And sometimes they are too crowded. Last time there were others that came after me I got my first 2 shaved ice then another costumer got theirs before we were given our last one. We waited a long time, So the first ones melted before we got it home to the person who was going to eat it.

But it's usually a good experience. Love all the flavors!

We waited 50 minutes for our order. When it was brought to the staff’s attention by someone that they were not going in order of when people ordered, they did nothing to fix it and continued to get people’s orders who got there 20 minutes after us.

This shave ice place never disappoints! They are quick and consistent!! Love this particular location for its friendly workers and quick service! This is the definition of summer!
