Pretty good food but the tips percentage calculation is based on the after tax price

OMBU is back and better than ever after the renovation. The space is brighter and more comfortable, and the menu now offers more variety, especially with upgraded meat and seafood options. It still has the same great hot pot experience, just more polished. Highly recommended.

Sad to have to say goodbye to OMBU…

I had a bad feeling about the renovations and it turned out to be right.
The delicious appetizers (chicken/pork katsu, takoyaki, sushi!, etc.) and ample menu is what made Ombu stand out from the competition, but somehow they decided to take all that away and now it’s just like any other hotpot in town.

And not only they are offering LESS, but they’re charging more for a lesser menu somehow too.
They sacrificed their unique menu for a fancy look.

Years of loyalty down the drain, so long as the menu stays like that I have no reason to come back, will have to look for the next best in town.

I used to love this place before they renovated it they took alot of items off of the menu and they just raised the price more just to account for the renovations
Won't be back soon

This was our first time back since the renovation. The restaurant looks beautiful, the food was great and our server was very amazing and attentive. Thank you so much for the amazing experience!

The new renovations are pretty, but they no longer have a lot of the stuff I used to love. The appetizers (pork cutlet, chicken cutlet), sushi, sesame balls, and some of the desserts are not on the menu. The amount of broth they initially brought out was way too little and they will ‘top it off’ with beef broth or hot water, but not the flavor you selected. A customer at the table near me noted the same thing, and he had to ask for more right from the start. Disappointed after such a long wait for them to reopen.

Absolutely amazing hot pot experience!
The ingredients were incredibly fresh, the broth was rich and flavorful, and the variety of options was impressive. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with recommendations. The restaurant was clean, cozy, and had a great atmosphere—perfect for gathering with friends or family.

I especially loved the dipping sauces and the high-quality meat selections. Everything was delicious from start to finish. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place to anyone who loves hot pot!

BEST HOT POT! I love the new renovations, and the service is still great. Meat is always good quality and tender. Broth never lacks flavor. The variety of vegetables and noodles is extensive, and they provide a wide selection of sauces so you can create your own. Fair pricing for being all you can eat.

We’ve been coming to ombu for years, the service has always been amazing, staff is always friendly. We came after the remodel, honestly I have never been more disappointed. I feel like the restaurant sacrificed the quality of the food for a fancier looking restaurant. The menu used to be incredibly fresh and hand made, I am extremely disappointed to have lesser quality food items to be blinded by all of the lights

Okay. Love love LOVE the renovations. It’s so pretty in there now!!! I love the additions of the boba, ice cream and cake! But, I was very disappointed to see they got rid of or replaced a bunch of my favorite foods. My favorite things to get there were their crab ragoons and their pork Katsu but those were removed :( I huge thing I always bragged about was their freshly made appetizers and sushi and I hope to see those items return

Great hotpot experience in the Salt Lake Valley, all you can eat meat seafood veggie & noodles with special recipes booth, alway crowd that need you to come before the dinner crowd.

The staff were nice and they had a good variety of things but that's it. Pretty much every ingredient was either just ok or plain bad. The squid weren't gutted at all and still had their spine, all the veg looked fine but tasted gross and most things were like that.
