I liked the food. Beer was great. Service was strange and we will leave it at that. Will definitely return. I liked the atmosphere. Fun bar.

Food: no
Beer: only if you like sours, maybe

IPA poured from a can. Was only okay. It wasn't very clear from the menu what was a draft and what was a can pour. The cost ($9/16oz) is what I would expect in NYC where the beers are much better. Looking at untapped, it seems that sours are what they do best.

They were out of many of their beers due to pie and beer day. Food was only ok and the music on bingo night was loud to the point that it made conversation difficult. The place has potential, but they’re still figuring things out.

The burger tastes like Krystal and Wendy’s had a baby. 5 Stars.. The Pilsner is pretty too.

I really like this new location. Huge space with multiple bars. Lots of seating and big windows all around. Plenty of parking! The Food was excellent. The best Brew in town.

My friends and I love to come to this place! If you wanna go to a place with a variety of beers, good service, and chill vibes look no further. Also the gentleman that is usually at the front checking IDs, ALWAYS compliments my nails lol!☺️

Jerry was great, had great conversations about out of state travel friends and drinks!

We had such a great experience thanks to Brooke and Luiz! They made us some amazing cocktails and were both incredibly friendly and welcoming the whole time. You can tell they really enjoy what they do—great energy and great service. Cheers to them!

I rarely ever review places but I had to for Shades.

1) They use AI for their can art. How awful when they are charging $14 for half a tomato, cheese, and bit of balsamic glaze drizzle. They choose to not even pay a local artist, instead use midjourney to be the face of their brand.

2) I’ve been a fan of the Utah beer scene for a while, Shades fails to meet the standards of all the other places close to it. Honestly, go to TF or Level for a better beer for a better price.

3) The vibes are off when you go in for a drink. All but 1 of the staff that we interacted with acted like they weren’t paid enough to care about being there.

4) The food is very overpriced for what it is. 4 small chicken lollipops (which are just over hyped chicken wings) for $14. Not to mention the poutine, which is not actually poutine. As a Canadian, this was offensive to my whole country. Honestly, I’ve had better poutine at any McDonalds north of the border. To be fair. the fries in the poutine were good, everything else was not great.

I’m summary:

- AI art for their cans.
- subpar beer.
- staff that needs to be paid better.
- over hyped, over priced, mid food.

The service was great and we enjoyed all five of the beers we tried. The smash burger, vegetarian chili and the pizza special were all very good.

This place is gorgeous, the manager Clayton is friendly and nice, the attention to detail is beautiful throughout. Numerous drinks on tap: from coffee and tea, seltzers, sours, wine, cocktails to mocktails. Beer on tap, in cans, to stay or purchase to go. Cocktail bar with a transmission lift and sofas and chairs, wild and cool. Dog friendly patio. 2 pool tables. TV's. Small-ish menu with a weekend bruch. Clean with unique features, odd bathroom tiles, and a fun bike rack. Outdoor patio with water for dogs and Cornhole. Intimate seating to large parties. Fun place!
